  1. me too head still hurts. going for caffeine and advil (as the wine and advil was minimally useful).
  2. Had Easter at me bro's house, wif me bro, his wife, his wife's recovering addict sister, and the two men who live up the hill.... Got glutened (as expected) but did not expect the massive headache from it. Not sure if this is a permanent change in response, or a special Easter gift. Ah well, that's what drugs are for, right? A hearty aaarrggghh...
  3. Dude! It's a rant! Chill! Sure you can buy pizza crusts elsewhere, the point is that these have gotten more caloric, which wasn't very nice.
  4. Alright. Who's a$$hat idea was it to make a raised garden bed? Do you people have any idea how much dirt weighs??? And how utterly ridiculous it is to buy dirt?? I am so frickin tired. But I will be able to make coffee tomorrow call my neighbor and have her come over and make me coffee tomorrow. I just hope one of these stupid plants...
  5. Okey dokey. Plan for the day: Shop - coffee maker died. desperately need new one. Will check out clothing deals at same time. Home store - get piles of dirt for new garden bed. Get insulation and some sort of stapling device to put it up with. Get long cord for dryer. Costco - I have no idea. Just going there because it's near all the other...
  6. I've forgotten, is your whole family gluten-free? I sorta think that the bacteria is more likely to infect someone with a low immune system. Maybe if you worked on sorting out what your family should, and should not, be eating, it would help with the reinfections.
  7. ummm, sposed to get down into the thirties over the next few days. Wondering if I turned my heat off too soon?
  8. You could try chloroprene. Or a different brand of nitrile. Maybe it's not the glove itself, but whatever the powder inside is. Or try cotton glove liners Open Original Shared Link
  9. MRSA is just a staph infection. Can be dangerous, but doesn't have to be. Some percentage of people (don't remember the number) are chronically colonized with MRSA, as determined by a nose swab. Most of these people never get sick. If you really really wanted to try to eradicate it, you'd probably have to treat everyone in the family (and extended family...
  10. NOT GOING TO BE BAD!! All the bad stuff is for people that don't follow the diet. You have made the choice to keep yourself healthy. You are going to be fine. Most of the accidental glutenings happen during the first year or so. Once you've gotten your new routine established, you'll have far fewer problems. Just be prepared for a few setbacks...
  11. Sleep, Amanda. You've earned rest. John will feel much better in the morning.
  12. Wine goes with everything Gads. My boss is hesitant to let me not work on Fridays because "what would everyone else think?" I'm like all Dude, you got bigger problems then my lack of body in the lab one day a week... Patti  gotcher back, babe
  13. I've had cats that would pound frantically on the door to get back in so they could go potty
  14. When I come home, Lefty spends about 10 minutes telling me all about his day. He doesn't meow - it's all a series of murmurs. Like this:
  15. My mom used to brush her bread with water, but I found this online: Open Original Shared Link
  16. Ya knew when ya signed on for cat duty, just who would be in charge...
  17. I think it's the pricier natural stuff. I don't shop at that level either, so I've never worried about it.
  18. You bring in the test results, and you tell the doc that you will be keeping her off gluten, and that these results support your discoveries that your daughter is much healthier when she doesn't eat gluten. Tell him that you'll expect his support in keeping her healthy while on this (high vegetable, low processed foods) diet. IF he still questions your...
  19. Well, I checked out your blog, but I messed up my comment there, so I'll say it here. Have you thought about finding a good naturopath or nutritionist to help guide you through an elimination diet? It's possible that some of your issues are caused by other foods. If nothing else, a monitored elimination diet will teach you more about your body and...
  20. Do you have to give up coffee? I still eat things that I have small reactions to. For me, it's quality-of-life. I choose what makes me happier (less unhappy?), and sometimes that means eating something knowing it'll have some affect on my life for the next day or two.
  21. hm. Sounds like incredibly simple advice, that would be incredibly difficult to practice. I really like it. Sounds like something I could use for a lot of aspects of my life.
  22. I am so sorry. I've had to put several cats to sleep and it never really gets easier. I still go between being thankful that I had them in my life, and being unhappy that they are no longer with me. I wish I had helpful words, but I can only say {HUGS}. And thank you for sharing your life for a little while with a small, furred, bundle of love.
