  1. I use a spice mix from Costco. I think Mrs Dash is gluten-free also. I end up using the spice mix and sea salt. I think it adds complexity to the flavors.
  2. drooooll which i have.... trying red wine and tapioca. I'll let you know how it turns out
  3. Question for y'all. I have instant pudding mix - assorted flavors - and I'd like to make some. My choices for liquid are: mojito mix, margarita mix, red wine, and scotch. What would work best? I also have a bit of french vanilla coffee creamer stuff, if that'll help.
  4. Hey! When's that spring break? And is still happening in the northwest?
  5. I imagine some robotic terror-prevention software mining internet sites for key words and forcing some poor low level cia agent to read through pages of this thread because Obama's name is mentioned. T'hell wi' messing up the google smurfs! We can take out whole spy agencies!!
  6. I think it means that you should stop eating gluten. Forever. Period. Browse through the board to get a feel of how people deal with this, and start asking questions when you're ready.
  7. Candida can be cured by a drug. If, however, you have a reoccurring infection, I would be inclined to think that you have an underlying immune disorder that is preventing your body from regulating it's inhabitants. Therefor, a Candida infection that returns after treatment is a symptom, not a disease.
  8. OK. So I'm at the eye doctor, reading the giant print Reader's Digest while waiting for my eyes to dilate. I'm at some glurpy article titled something like 10 things to be glad about, you know, like world peace and stuff. I made it to No. 5 - Horns of plenty. I couldn't tell you what they were trying to discuss, 'cause by then I was only able to...

  10. ooohhh BSOD respectful silence everyone
  11. And thanks! I'll pass the info on to my local yahoo group.
  12. May be pricey for some. Are there day-of volunteer opportunities in exchange for admission?
  13. These are very difficult statistics to interpret. Screening has improved considerably. Metastatic breast cancer might previously have been diagnosed as lung or bone or wherever it had gone to. Or not diagnosed at all. Life expectancy has increased in the last 100 years. etc.
  14. There are many types of breast cancer. Pre-menopausal is distinctly different from post- (estrogen sensitivity and stuff). Mammograms are still recommended for post menopausal women because they do detect tumors (breast tissue becomes less dense with less estrogen). If you have no family history, and don't want a yearly mammogram, don't do it. Your...
  15. Welcome back!! Interesting thought on the vit D - fibro connection. Is your brother also physically active (just wondering about the exercise thing confounding the vit D question)? Did you ever have your D levels tested?
  16. I had no idea. I guess I never eat that kind of stuff. Never been a pre-packaged kind of girl, and dropped pretty much all non-single item foods in the last year.
  17. I understand. I just don't think you could make a viable legal argument for it's use.
  18. I was all set to invite myself over, til you got to the edible cat bits. Where in heaven's name are you going to find purring peanuts??
  19. It's also possible that when you cut out yeast, you also cut out some other grain ot starch that is causing you problems. I can't think of a food that has yeast, but no grain.
  20. much better answer. What she said!
  21. Just quietly saying that what medical care you receive is your choice. I opt out of "mandatory" things all the time. It's up to you to decide what vaccines are appropriate. If you're going to say things like this, you need to back up your statements with sources. I have never seen anything showing that the polio vaccine causes polio.
  22. Why would you not choose to adjust your diet and just let your bones rebuild themselves?
  23. I think it would be hard to justify its use for celiac disease, since the treatment is just 'don't eat gluten'.
  24. But wouldn't length have some bearing on the direction? I mean, shorter could be due north...
  25. This is exactly why it's no longer recommended. The majority of premenopausal women find their lumps themselves, or their PCP finds it. I forget the exact statistics, but it something like: out of 1000 women screened, one will have cancer that's not detected, 2 will have cancer that is detected, and ~100 will undergo additional procedures due to false readings...
