  5. Survived the panicked shoppers at the grocery store. It's really funny to see what people buy in anticipation of being snowed in (she says with a cart full of chips and gluten-free cookies). I saw one guy getting blocks of ice and I'm thinking "Dude, it's like, 20 degrees outside. What are you gonna do with ice??" The junk food aisle was almost blocked...

  8. Y'all are overthinking this. Throw whatever vegetation you can eat into the pot, add some dead animal flesh, sprinkle with dried flavorings, and push go. If you want it thinner, cut smaller peices and add some broth. If you want it thicker, throw in some quinoa or dried mushrooms.
  9. I'm officially snowed in. The road in front of my house got a light dusting of sand this morning that did nothing to decrease the slipperiness. I'm now regretting not shopping last weekend...

  13. Nope. Still closed. Most of the freeways are running at about 5mph. Think steep hills, freezing rain, minimal snow removal equipment
  14. We're still in the middle of a huge storm. Schools closed, bridges shut down. But because of the direction of the storm, Seattle is in a "snow shadow". The clouds dump their snow as they hit Olympics. So in a big circle around Seattle proper, kids are sledding down overpasses, and us in the middle got nuthin. Stanwood (North of here) has 9 inches!...
