  1. Thanks for the suggestions. I have to make my own because my daughter only eats pizza, ravioli and chicken. Now that I have the pizza recipe that was pinned a few days ago, I only need to master ravioli. It can't have any dairy in it (i.e. parmasan or such) because she's casein free, too. If anyone has a good ravioli recipe, I'd love to give it a try...
  2. I have recipes for Bette Hagman's Potato/Tapioca/corn pasta and the light bean mix. Has anyone tried both of these? Which is better? Is there another recipe that works really well for pasta: ravioli, pirogi, etc.?
  3. Does anyone have a good cracker recipe? or maybe a flat bread that toasts nicely?
  4. be careful about choc chips - most have dairy, even the semi sweet. Trader Joe's has dairy free semi sweet choc chips.
  5. You GOTTA try Bette Hagman's Toll House Cookies if you want a really good choc chip cookie recipe. They are JUST like the real thing. They use the feather light mix. I'll post the recipe later, but I believe they are from her Gluten-Free Gourment Cooks Comfort Food or gluten-free Gourmet Makes Dessert.
  6. I'm also new to this as I just found out that the gluten-free/CF diet helps children with autism (my daughter). I urge you to read Bette Hagman's books. She's done all the research and experimentation, all you have to do is read it all. Her books are available at your local library. Be sure to get the updated versions. Upon the suggestion of a member...
  7. PLEASE look under the other pizza crust thread. Someone posted the recipe from Bette Hagman's book The Gluten Free Gourmet Cooks Fast and Healthy. OMG I just made it for lunch today and it is sooooooo good!
  8. OMG I took the suggestion to use the recipe from Bette Hagman's Fast and Healthy book (the one that you posted here). It IS sooo good! I've tried others, but this one is the one I'll keep. Thanks for this, my daughter, being autistic, is a picky eater and only eats ravioli, pizza and chicken. Now that we've decided to go gluten free to see if it'll help...
  9. Is this better (or worse) than Bette Hagman's French bread pizza crust? In Bette Hagman's The Gluten-Free Gourmet Bakes Bread, She has a French bread/Pizza flour mix. Then you follow directions for either the bread or the crust. The French bread is OUTSTANDING - as good as any artisan bread made with wheat. But the pizza crust (using the same flour...
  10. I'm also desperately seeking a recipe for gluten-free/CF tofu cheesecake. It must be dairy free. Does anyone have such a recipe?
  11. Thanks, that's good to know. Hellman's is the one we use.
  12. Is there a recipe for a boston cream type doughnut - cream filled or lemon filled or . . . I made some cake doughnuts the other day that were good, but cream filled would be a lighter, less cake-like doughnut. Hard to explain, but does anyone have such a recipe?
  13. I'm new to gluten-free/CF baking and cooking. We're doing this for our daughter who has autism. Someone had a topic about mayonnaise - a homemade recipe that sounded good. I'll make homemade mayo if I have to, but what's wrong with store bought? What ingredient is not gluten-free in store bought mayo? Is there a gluten-free mayo that's good?
  14. Martha Stewart had one last year. A contest winner made it, so it must be good. I suppose that you could convert it to gluten-free.
  15. Soy milk (NOT low fat, tho) works well to replace the milk.
  16. thanks so much for the responses. My daughter was diagnosed with autism two years ago and I'm just now hearing about the gluten-free/casein-free diet. Are there other parents with autistic children on this board? How does the diet work for your child?
  17. I love her books, but I'm hoping she'll put out ONE MORE that'll include filo dough and gingerbread house/people. Does anyone have recipes for these?
