I was in the loo for over 2 hrs on and off...stomach cramps....etc etc. Yesterday when I went to my big GI appt she said until your intestines have healed....coffee can do a number on celiacs...only because its so rough on your system....and just goes right...

My new GI doc laughed, when I said they tried pushingh anti depressants on me, and she said...well...from what I seeof your records...eveytime you've gone to emergency its been within 4 hrs of a meal....its been all GI....and frankly there...

  12. Yeah...what I liked.....was actually being infront a a human being who looked at me and said.... yep....yep, uh huh...nope you're not crazy. This is a very serious disease, but one that can be mananged. And yes....osteoporosis and osteopenia are serious...but we canmanage those too. All this garbage for year, and I mean the better part of 5 yrs now....

As a kid I always broke something altough when I was a kid...Celiac was still one of those "you'll never see it in a dr. practice" kind of a thing... and the doc said she wants to do a supplement cocktail before she sends me on my way with a boniva or somehting...
  14. Soooooooo I went to my doc who is a researcher and expert in Celiac disease. At the University of Chicago Anyway...she took a look at me today....did the standard once over and right away was pull things like deficiencies....and so on from my symptoms... Then she sends me for a STAT Dexxa scan...bone density thing...and showed that I have osteoporosis...

  21. Well I buy only organic, natural meats. Meaning all vegetarian feed, no antibiotics and no preservatives. So thats ok. I asked the GI and she said.....beef digests poorly and sometimes, bit do not digest at all so its really not good for a newly diagnosed person. So I am sticking to any fresh turkey...chicken...and salmon. Although I did try...

  24. I know this is a few days old thread....but I have to say ...most everything I have read and what my doc has told me is to avoid hydrogenated oils as a celiac. EVERYTIME...I eat something with hydrogenated oil....I get sick...snickers has it.....what ever cooking oil may have it....when I eat that same food without it...I'm fine. Unless I know its extra...
