  1. Not all baking soda/powder is gluten free. I only know of a gluten-free powder, and that's clabber girl.
  2. I don't remember seeing carageenan in that specific flavor, but I know that stuff gives me GI problems. Thanks for pointing that out!
  3. Sometimes it bothers me, sometimes it doesn't. Maybe they use grain alcohol for the vanilla flavoring, and they don't realize it has gluten or they're not fully educated on it. ? I dunno, maybe I just get tummy aches for no reason =/ Thanks =)
  4. Maybe it's because the Amy's products you've had are cross contaminated. The Shepherd's Pie isn't, I've had it with no problems, but that's just me. Amy's soups are made in a facility that processes wheat, along with the meal entrees.
  5. This happened about two years ago. I don't know if talk of a US gluten-free law was known about then... ? If not, then it couldn't be that.
  6. I don't buy Rice Dream anymore either.
  7. You handed out gluten-free cards? What are those?
  8. Sometimes when I eat Purely Decadent Soy Ice Cream (pnut butter zig zag) I get a tummy ache. The carton states that they test for gluten (i think), or something about it not containing gluten. I just read a thread on here that contained a statement from an email saying some of their flavorings use grain alcohol. It was probably the vanilla flavoring that...
  9. I looked at a carton of unrefrigerated Rice Milk a while back and noticed it said it contained gluten from barley at 0.002%. I looked at the same flavor, only refrigerated, and it didn't say anything about containing gluten. Is this mislabeling, or what?
  10. I heard Canada has their gluten limit/law, so does that mean that food they ship to the US (made in Canada) follows their law? I know we don't have our ppm limit yet (or whatever it's called), but since it's from Canada, does that mean you can't completely trust it to be 100% gluten-free?
  11. if it listed wheat, wouldn't it have to list gluten? I mean, they say they list for wheat, but they say nothing about gluten. Wheat free doesn't mean gluten free.
  12. I just received this in an email response: "We cannot state that this product is gluten free. It contains <20 ppm WBRO gluten. (10/25/05 email)"
  13. From an email response reguarding whether or not Huntz was gluten-free: "We cannot state that this product is gluten free. It contains <20 ppm WBRO gluten. (10/25/05 email)"
  14. Is Huntz Ketchup gluten free? I called and the recording said they label for wheat (I know wf isn't the same as gluten-free), but the next day, I had D... Does anyone know for sure if it's gluten free? What brands are? Thanks =)
  15. I bought a loaf of Ener G's Brown Rice Loaf a while ago, and the second day I had it, it had bluish mold on it. I kept it in the fridge, and tied up with the plastic grip thing it comes with... Why did it mold? I've been scared to buy it ever since, but bought a loaf the other day. I had D the next morning, and I'm not sure if it was from: 1- the bread...
  16. Zig Zag papers contain gluten.
  17. I had a few bags of fun sized m&ms and felt fine, then a week or two later, I seemed to react to them when I ate more. I had some the other day, and got sick today when all I had was a pb&j. I use my own peanut butter, jelly, and gluten free bread...I hope it's not the m&ms. They're my favorite! I'm assuming it was the m&ms, and it just took...
  18. Sometimes, for me, it doesn't matter what I eat. Sometimes I don't crave. I just stuff my face. It's the act of eating that's satisfying I guess. I get into a trance. That's usually during a binge/purge episode.
  19. Good to hear you're doing better. When I was eating gluten, I was constantly bloated. UGH. Not so much now..but still. I've been gluten-free for almost two years. When I was nine I had a flu that spread to my brainstem and caused Encephylitis (sp?). I couldn't eat for two weeks and forgot how to walk. After that, I went back to normal. I guess I developed...
  20. I've definately lost weight. I'm 5'1" and 17yrs old, and almost two years ago, when I found out I was gluten intolerant, I lost 20lbs in three weeks. I was 130lbs and went down to 110. I maintained that for a while, but eventually developed EDNOS and now I'm 99.5lbs. Which really isn't underweight for my height.
  21. When I get glutened I have diarreah (yuck) for about three days. Everything I eat, once it gets to my intestines. That causes me to lose weight. Once I get back into eating how I was, my weight gets back to where it was.
  22. I get times where I overeat the things I can eat. It eventually turned into bulimia though. It's not as bad as it used to be. Just make sure you stay healthy.
  23. Fat doesn't turn into muscle btw.
  24. Oh thank you! I guess it must've been the cereal.
  25. I'm 5'1", so I'm pretty short. I noticed my body doesn't act like other peoples. I guess it could be from the celiac. I know what you mean about the fear of food. I panic and sometimes make myself sick thinking something I ate will make me sick. That's good he's there for you. Good luck =)
