I was talking to my friend Anna and, she told me if your diareeha is dark brown and, you only go once or twice a day that means your system is absorbing the nutrience just the same..If its light in color and, smelling bad then there could be some gluten in there...I'm in the healing process and, was told that the diareeha is normal and, that it can take some time to get better..

Whats confusing is that when I started the diet I saw a change very quick my stools where nice my body was responding nicely to the diet...until a wrong ingestion by error and, my system is back down and, having a hard time reforming my stool..the rice and, bananas are helping a little...but not quite well. I also get hunger cravings but I'm to sensitive to eat... :(:(

Mario,

Chances are that if you ingest gluten (it's not nice but..) it would smell so bad it could gag a horse!!! Those are my experiences anyway. The cravings I get, can get pretty insane. I get so hungry I would eat all day everyday. Don't worry it all gets better in time!! B)

I also worry about the diarrhea issue. I've been gluten-free for 9 months now, and I still have very loose and pale stool. I was recently diagnosed with Colitis, so that is part of the problem, but I still believe my bowel movements should be improving much more by now. I don't think I've had a normally formed stool in 2 years at least, if you'll excuse my directness! I really wish that particular symptom would finally subside; I really won't believe I'm well again until it does.

I have problems with pale stools whenever I am iron deficient. Maybe you should have anemia testing.

More great tips, and a good excuse to shop at M&S and also buy more iced buns!   I wish we had an ASDA near us, as the few times we've been to one their gluten-free pasta range seemed very reasonably priced compared to other shops.  Thanks so much, @Russ H.

I hope you are on the mend soon. About 1 in 5 people who contracted chicken pox as a child go on to develop shingles in later life - it is not uncommon. There are 5 known members of the herpes virus family including chicken pox that commonly infect humans, and they all cause lifelong infections. The exact cause of viral reactivation as in the case of shingles or cold sores is not well understood, but stress, sunburn and radiotherapy treatment are known triggers. Some of the herpes viruses are implicated in triggering autoimmune diseases: Epstein-Barr virus is suspected of triggering multiple sclerosis and lupus, and there is a case where it is suspected of triggering coeliac disease. As to whether coeliac disease can increase the likelihood of viral reactivation, there have been several cohort studies including a large one in Sweden suggesting that coeliac disease is associated with a moderate increase in the likelihood of developing shingles in people over the age of 50. US 2024 - Increased Risk of Herpes Zoster Infection in Patients with Celiac Disease 50 Years Old and Older Sweden 2018 - Increased risk of herpes zoster in patients with coeliac disease - nationwide cohort study

BFree bread is fortified with vitamins and minerals as is ASDA own-brand gluten-free bread. All the M&S bread seems to be fortified also.
