We are planning a trip to Club Med, Turks - I have been doing a lot of on-line research and it sounds like they should be prepared to deal with gluten-free diet. I was curious if anyone had been (to any Club Med), and what their experience was. I am also curious if there is any special precautions that I should be taking before going - this will be my first big trip (more than a weekend) since my diagnosis, so I am feeling a bit of anxiety...

I just thought I would update now that I have returned from my trip. We had a great time and no food issues. I would find the chef every day when I went to the meal area, and he would give me a 'tour' of what I could and could not eat. On days when there wasn't much to offer (Asian night had soy sauce in everything), he would go get a clean pan and have someone make a special batch of the main dish without the soy sauce.

It was a buffet, so you do need to be smart about things. For example, I didn't put any of the tuna on my salad because I saw someone using the tuna tongs to make a sandwich with it. The good thing about this club med, so you don't needs to worry about kids double-dipping with the spoons. I know that adults are not above doing this, but I think no kids does reduce the risk.

There were times that there were items that I would like to have tried that were not gluten-free, but I always had something tasty to eat and never had any issues...

      Perhaps I should also have said that in addition to showing a very high response to gluten, her stool study showed that she had extreme reactions to everything achievement on it long course of microbials to treat that.

      My daughter has celiac disease and has had for a long time. She fell loses strictly gluten-free diet and recently got rid of all cutting boards in any gluten in her house at all. She just had a stool test and it came back showing of gigantic response to gluten in her diet. What could be going on since she doesn't eat any gluten and is very careful about any kind of hidden glue? Help!

      I think sometimes the pain described here can be a result of a sort of 'perfect storm' of contributing factors.  Recently I had an appalling bout of lower back pain, lower burning gut pain and what felt like cramps.  I then started to think about what could have caused it and I realised it was several things that had set it off: I'd been carrying heavy luggage (back strain); I had been sitting down in a car for too long and wearing a tight belt (I have pudendal nerve issues and sacroiliac issues and this exacerbates the pain), and I had bloating and burning pain in my colon caused by eating too much soy, latte and caffeine, I guess putting further pressure in the lower abdomen.  I had this same pain prior to my diagnosis and a couple of years post-diagnosis, I'd quite forgotten how unpleasant it was.

      Have this rash forming on the back of my legs. Looking for relief outside of going to the doctor.

      HI @Kirbyqueen That's great news your insurance will be kicking in soon.  Sorry to see that you have been dealing with this for six months now, but I do hope you have managed to find some relief with some of the suggestions in the meantime. Perhaps come back and let us know what the doctor says. Cristiana

      I agree, and hopefully your doctor will contact you soon about the next step, which will likely be an endoscopy to confirm your diagnosis. Do you have celiac disease symptoms?
