Billie Eilish Gets Gluten-Free Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwiches at Every Show

Reviewed and edited by a celiac disease expert.

If you want Billie Eilish to sing her hits, make sure there are plenty of Schar brand gluten-free bread, peanut butter and jelly--it's in her contract.

Celiac.com 10/21/2022 - Backstage at every show, chart-topping, Grammy and Academy Award-winning singer Billie Eilish gets Schar brand gluten-free bread and peanut butter and jelly.  Or else!

In a little dish to fans on Apple Music TikTok, the “Ocean Eyes” singer confirmed on Friday, September 30th that, backstage for every event, she always has Schar brand gluten-free bread from Germany, and “I always have peanut butter and jelly.”

    Celiac.com Sponsor (A12):
It's not negotiable, as it's one of her contract riders. The standard spread also crackers, chips, salsa, guacamole, watermelon and Tajin, the spice blend.

The contract also list her favorite beverages, including lemonade, chocolate milk, and Poppi, a low-sugar probiotic sparkling soda.

Having reliable access to your favorite gluten-free foods is especially important for people with celiac disease and/or gluten-sensitivity, so it's smart-thinking by the star and her management team to include those specifics in her contract. We'd like to think that Eilish would find a way to make the show happen in the event someone forgot her gluten-free bread, but we're also glad that no one has had to find out.

How about you? Any gluten-free favorites you prefer not to do without? Share them in our comments section.

Safe Gluten-Free Halloween Candy & Chocolate List
Celiac.com 10/29/2025 - Our Safe Gluten-Free Halloween Candy list is back for 2025—refreshed, expanded, and easier to scan. We’ve updated brand and product entries A to Z, and we’ve also clarified items that are not safe or that carry cross-contact caveats. The goal is simple: help you pick candy with confidence if you live gluten-free for celiac disease or gluten sensitivity.

This year’s update adds new labeled gluten-free options from both big and small makers, plus more seasonal minis and variety bags you’ll actually see on shelves. As always, this list is a guide, not a substitute for the label in your hand—formulas, suppliers, and facilities can change. When in doubt, check the package, look for a gluten-free statement or certification, and contact the manufacturer.

Top Brands of Gluten-Free Peanut Butter
Celiac.com 10/13/2020 - Peanuts are naturally gluten-free, and so are most peanut butter brands, unless they've got added gluten ingredients. However, many brands do not label their peanut butter as gluten-free, and many unlabeled peanut butters may be made on equipment that processes wheat, rye or barley. That's not necessarily a big deal, but some people like to play it safe.
These brands go the extra mile to make sure their peanut butters are labeled "Gluten-Free." That means that you can breath extra easy about serving them to people with celiac disease.
