Celiac.com 08/16/2022 - For those who might not know, Nutella is a brand of sweetened hazelnut cocoa spread, made by the Italian company Ferrero. Because Nutella is a brand name, there's officially only one brand of Nutella, and that's the original Nutella made by Ferrero. There are, in fact, a few competing, if not comparable, chocolate hazelnut spreads on the market.

So, are those brands gluten-free, and safe for people with celiac disease? Here's what we know about the other brands of chocolate hazelnut spread.

    Celiac.com Sponsor (A12):
For anyone interested, the folks over at thekitchn.com did a taste test of the top chocolate hazelnut spreads, which might help you to choose the best one for you.

These brands are either labeled gluten-free, or else list no gluten or wheat ingredients and have no allergen warning for wheat or gluten. For this reason, we consider them both gluten-free, and safe for people with celiac disease:

It looks like Good & Gather Chocolate Hazelnut Spread is naturally gluten-free, but does not say "gluten-free" on its label:
