Question About Celiac Testing

Hi I am new to this website. I have a question and was wanting some feedback. I recently went on a gluten free diet for two weeks. I hadn't gotten tested but put a correlation together with my symptoms and the food I was eating. My symptoms are itching or burning in mouth and throat with in seconds, headaches, head feeling in a fog, feeling almost like I am high after eating gluten, heart palpitations, bad stomach pain, bloating w gas. I have IBS so i take 250 billion probiotic a day that helps with the diarrhea. I went to the dr and she wants me to be tested for celiac disease. While I was on the gluten free diet for 2 weeks most symptoms went away. I have to confess i wasn't 100% off gluten. Some days i ate stuff that i knew had gluten (at a work function) other days I ate stuff that had traces of gluten and than there was the times I ate stuff from restaurant started feeling really sick looked up on web and surprise surprise was loaded with gluten. So my question is do I wait to get tested or do I get tested now. I dont know if I can handle going back on 100% gluten diet again.

It is probably OK to test.  Maybe just make sure you eat some gluten for a couple of weeks first? You want to make sure you get the correct result.  The amount doesn't have to be much.  This link is for someone who has been gluten-free for a prolonged time.

Just to clarify, you were not following the gluten free diet if you were eating that much gluten during those two weeks. You were basically "gluten-lite" - but it's good that you were feeling better! A nod in the right direction. It may be that you were eating enough gluten to get tested without realizing it. What did you eat that had traces of gluten? Anything like sauces or salad dressing?

Thiamax (TTFD) plus a B-complex, and if you want benfotiamine, the Life Extension formula covers that at ~100 mg.

      High fiber can definitely cause sudden GI distress especially if it’s a new addition but accidental gluten exposure can feel similar. Keeping a simple food/symptom log and introducing new gluten-free foods one at a time can really help you spot the pattern.       Thanks for asking  I’m mainly looking for gluten-free staples and snacks. Any recommendations for brands or go-to items would be appreciated.

      sorry a bit confused so I should take my B complex along with Objective Nutrients Thiamax for TTFD but what about a Benfotiamine to take. The Life extensions contains Benfotiamine and Thiamine together or im confusing myself. I am trying to see if I take Thiamax what should I take for Benfotiamine. Thanks EDITING after further research I see ones water soluble ones fat soluble. So I guess 100MG as you suggested of Life Extension contains Benfotiamine and Thiamine Hydrochloride. and the Objective Nutrients Thiamax contains TTFD.     would work for me.

      I put on over 12kg by eating protein with every meal, 3 to 5 times a day. Eggs, Chicken, Tuna, Turkey etc. I stay away from too much red meat as it can be inflammatory. Scott is correct. I've come across a bunch of Coeliac PT's on Tiktok and Instagram. They all say the same thing, the key is getting enough protein and consistency.
