Anybody find out they have and overgrowth of Candida? 2013 was fully a year of trial and error for me. After all the testing in regards to gluten(Celiac, sensitivity, or intolerance?)...I finally go back to what I already knew, but didn't think it was the root problem. I know now that it is, and always has been since I was a child. I'll keep this short, and not go into the length of how and why I developed Candida overgrowth, however I had my AHA moment last month. I finally got to buy some gluten-free beer and gluten-free apple cider. Well, I broke out in a rash the next day-totally on fire! It's the sugar and yeast!!!! I don't know why it took me so long to realize this...I was told by my doctor that I my body can't really tolerate sugar, and of course to stay away from gluten, soy, and dairy. I know I needed to as, all my symptoms clear up when I do. However, on a emotional-social standpoint....I was so irritated when people would ask, well are you Celiac? And when I would say I don't know, I never had the test, blah blah blah. They wouldn't take me serious. Like I'm making this all up or something. So I tortured myself, and went back on gluten to do the endoscopy/colonoscopy. They said I looked nice and normal in there. So, since then I've been on and off of eating good-kinda in limbo trying to figure out what I need to do for myself. And then the gluten-free beer incident happened, had my AHA moment, and am now working on getting back on track. :)

Sorry for the novel. Anybody else suffering from Candida? What has helped you? I do take a 7 day probiotic supplement every 2-3 months, and I know the protocols that I have to follow as far as diet goes. I'm just having a hard time dealing with this on a emotional level....withdrawals aren't fun. Sugar is ADDICTING!!!

Thanks for any input!

My son is now recovering from Candidiasis... It is gluten related, you know that! Well, in brief, my advice goes as follows: find a doctor that can guide you correctly, the only treatment though is nutrition. Still, bio-coordination and/or bio-energy (alternative medicine here in Greece) proved so really very helpful!

You have to give up gluten, sugars, (sugar, even from fruit, carbohydrates), tomato and yeast, for a period of 3 to 6 months if you aren't supported by bio-coordination, just for a month up to 2 months if bio-energy and bio-coordination methods are applied by a specialist. Candida feeds on anything you eat, so you have to 'drop it dead from starvation'. The first stage of nutrition is just 'green stuff', the second allows for certain meats and the third carefully introduces certain other foods.

Still, because of the ceverity of the infection and the possible side-effects (vometing, nausea, weakness, sickness) during the first two stages of nutrition, it is important that you seek medical help.

My son has been there, we did it with the support of a bio-coordinator and her careful planning, there are usually more foods that are involved, usually in the form of 'allergy' because of the reaction of each organism, so you need serious and specialist help to do it correctly and effectively.

I wish you the best!!! (my son is just 10... it took us two years to find the 'main cause', his problems have yet to be overcome, it takes time, but it's our health at steak, so it is worth every efford!!!)

Hi Christina,

Thank you SO much for responding. :) I do have a doctor that can help me. I really feel for you guys as it is such a hard thing to deal with. I really wish I found out at 10 though, it would have saved me from so many problems, and so much pain. Good luck to you and your family! <3
