Writing A Paper

Hello everyone!

I have to write an editorial for my public relations writing class. The topic I chose to write about is food labeling; my position is obviously FOR it! I've been researching for some really great anecdotes and statisitics (this site is my favorite gluten-free research place) and have found some really good ones, but I was wondering if anyone else had some favorite sites that I haven't stumbled on yet. My paper is due in only a couple of days (quick turnaround in college classes!) but please keep responding because my mom and I are always looking for the latest information on everything celiac!

Thanks a bunch!

:)

if you can get your hands on the most recent copy of gluten-free living magazine, there is an article on labeling. Open Original Shared Link i buy mine at wild oats...

I was going to suggest that you contact the Celiac Center at University of MD. After I saw where you were from, I asuume you already did that  .

Good idea with the gluten-free living magazine! And yes, I did go to the UMD site. Although even though I'm at Maryland, I've never been to the research center. It's not on my campus!

I found a really interesting stat...only 1 in over 4500 people with celiac disease are actually diagnosed! I am certain that 3 of my friends have it, I wish they would get tested!

The topic has come up in the forum a lot: https://www.celiac.com/search/?q=lymphocytic colitis&quick=1&type=forums_topic and here are discussions with "colitis": https://www.celiac.com/search/?&q=colitis&type=forums_topic&quick=1&search_and_or=and&sortby=relevancy

I’m in a flare up with rib pain. I read where others have experienced this after exposure to gluten.  Has anyone found something that eases the pain.

Scott Adams/Trents - Thanks!  I will definitely do some more research.  I welcome any and all advice.

Yes, I've read that online but I was just surprised that no one has mentioned it on this forum specifically.  We have not had our follow up meeting with the Dr where I'm sure she will advise as to how he needs to deal with this ailment.  I have learned from past health issues - if you want to find the REAL truth - talk to someone living with the disease.  THEY will know way more than any doctor ever could.    Thanks for responding.
