Awesome! Your Canadian friends appreciate it.

Felidae Enthusiast

Thank you very much for the list. It is so difficult trying to figure out if a product that is safe in the U.S. is safe here.

Carriefaith Enthusiast

no problem :) I've had this list since February and just noticed it was online last night, so I thought I'd share it with everyone. It is a great resource since some products are different in Canada than the US, like Lea and Perrins Worcester sauce for example.

Thanks Carrie, it looks like a nice handy one! :D

Carriefaith, what kind of worcestershire sauce do you use since Lea & Perrins is off limits?

And thanks for the great "soft, chewy breadstick" recipe you posted a while back. We love it! Had some yesterday...I think my in-laws were impressed with the gluten-free meal they had when they came for Ty's birthday, even though it was nothing special. Speaking of those breadsticks, time for a snack.

Thanks! I'm glad everyone is enjoying them :) They are like "real" breadsticks.

I actually haven't been able to find a gluten free worcestershire sauce where I live. I have a really good recipe that uses worcestershire sauce so I am getting a friend who travels to the USA a lot to get some Lea & Perrins for me. Do you know of any safe brands in Canada?

2Boys4Me Enthusiast

No, I don't know of a gluten-free Worchestershire sauce off hand, I'm at work, so I don't have my duotang of lists. I think I might check President's Choice if they have one, because their soy sauce is gluten-free. I'd have to drive down to Montana to get L&P, and I'm not willing to do that. I did send an email to Lea & Perrins asking them why it was gluten-free in the states and not in Canada, but I haven't gotten a response yet.

Now I have a project for tomorrow while the kids are at school.

PS the dog got the last of the bread sticks and without my permission...what a brat!

Felidae Enthusiast

Our Lea & Perrins is the same recipe as the UK version. It's like Smirnoff Ice in Canada is made without malt, but in the U.S. with malt. Apparently we have more European tastebuds? Really is Presidents Choice soy sauce gluten free?

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

My Celiac association says it is, but I have to admit that I have never checked. I use VH Soy sauce. It is clearly labelled and in the bold allergen list as the end it says "contains: soy".

Drat Lea & Perrins! They still haven't responded to my email. Nor have I received my response from Parmalat yet. I'll have to get on them. I am a valued consumer.

Presidents Choice soy sauce is not gluten-free.

There is a mistake on the Canadian Products list. According to the Lactaid website only two products are gluten-free, but the list says that all Lactaid products are gluten-free.

2Boys4Me Enthusiast

Felidae's right, it's not President's Choice that's gluten-free, it's the No Name brand, yellow label with green (I think) printing that's available at Superstore.

I hope no one bought it because I was steering you in the wrong direction.

Really? Wow... I should point that out to them. Thanks for telling us. I guess that's proof to always double check your sources.

It can take longer than 6 months for antibodies to drop to the normal range,  My DGP IgA took a few years as I got stricter and stricter about being gluten free  But having symptoms again could also mean you’re getting some gluten in your diet.

Hi, I just had my 6 month check after being diagnosed Celiac 6 months ago.  All of my panel numbers were normal except: Deamidated Gliadin Abs, IgA (It is 31 with high being over 30)  I have also been having symptoms again. Am I not actually being as careful as I think I am or does it take longer than 6 months for this particular test to come back down?  I can't get ahold of my doctor this week as she is out.     Thank you!
    • Scott Adams
That is very strange, because it looks to me like two very different test results, but for the same test! It's definitely time to contact your doctor for clarity on this.
    • Redanafs
Same day which is strange to me.

Scott, thank you SO MUCH for this!! She has been through so much in the last three years as we've tried to track down answers. This language will definitely help me help her to reframe.
