Need A Leave-In Conditioner/detangler

My oldest has typical "little girl ratty hair".  Same drill as most moms have - she doesn't brush it great, but won't let me touch it.

We've tried Suave detangler - it wasn't good for her hair.  Now we're trying Panten - also not good.

Anybody have a gluten-free one that you really love?  I'm willing to spend more on this because "kid" hair products tend to be junky.

Thanks.

Seems that the good ones have wheat germ oil in them. A few years back, my hairdresser used one that was sunflower oil based. Maybe you could find that at a beauty supply store? Sorry. I don't remember the name.

What kind of hair does your daughter have, straight/curly etc?  And were the suave and pantene ones too light?  I would definitely recommend checking out a beauty supply store- usually they have decent prices and you can check it online, too.  Here are a couple:

Also if you have Ulta where you live, they have a huge selection, too, but do carry some high end stuff that may not be in the kiddo price range.

This stuff has been around for forever, I assume it works:

Just glancing through ingredients, lots of them do have wheat protein or wheat germ oil.  Ick!  Hope you find something :)

Laura - it's straight, but very thick.  She, along with a lot of her friends, brush the outside layer while the inside layer turns into a rat's nest.  I can't believe how difficult it's been to find a decent gluten free option!

I hadn't considered running into Sally, but it's just down the street.

Thanks for the suggestions, ladies!  If anybody has another option let me know. :)

I use Desert Essance leave ins, i have thick curly hair and it works out alright... they make several products and are all gluten free as far as I know. + They smell pretty good :)

I believe that most  Dove shampoo products are Gluten free, and so their leave in conditioner may well be the same, you would have to check to be sure though.

This treatment looks promising. Its aim is to provoke immune tolerance of gluten, possibly curing the disease. It passed the phase 2 trial with flying colours, and I came across a post on Reddit by one of the study volunteers. Apparently, the results were good enough that the company is applying for fast track approval.  Anokion Announces Positive Symptom Data from its Phase 2 Trial Evaluating KAN-101 for the Treatment of Celiac Disease https://www.reddit.com/r/Celiac/comments/1krx2wh/kan_101_trial_put_on_hold/

BTW, we've done other articles on this topic that I wanted to share here (not to condone smoking!):

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.
