How Long Before Test Results Come In?

My 5-year-old has been complaining of stomach pain for months, and while it's not severe, it's enough that it reminds me of her sister before she was diagnosed 5 years ago via biopsy. So last Friday I took her to a pediatric GI at a children's hospital who ran a full celiac panel. I was just wondering how long it takes to do all of them? I know I can view her ttg-IgA tonight online, but that's the only one that they post for parents to look at, and based on prior testing, it's pretty much worthless as her total IgA is on the very low side.

It drives me crazy that they don't post all the results online, but I'm not sure when to start bugging them via phone if it takes a week for all of it to get done.

Thank you!

Hard to say, since every lab is different. What did your doctor say? Waiting is so hard! Hang in there, Mom!

Most seem to be done in a week or two.  The EMA IgA takes the most time because of the titre (dilutaions).

Hang in there -- it is hard to wait.  I'm sure it's got to be much harder since you're waiting on results for your small child.  We all want to protect our kids!

      Thanks for your input.

If you have hemorrhoids 1x weekly I don't see how you have time to heal from one episode before you experience another one, unless each one is a very minor event. Have you consulted a physician about your hemorrhoid issue? It's not normal to be having an episode every week unless it is really one episode that is not completely healing between weekly flareups.

No I haven't had one since 2021. I rarely have more than 1 per week.

Sorry, I see that now as I reread your original post. You say you have hemorrhoids "only once a week" now. When I develop hemorrhoids, which is once every few years now, it generally takes 3-4 days for healing to take place. So, it doesn't seem like you could have much relief time between episodes if you have them weekly. Have you had a lower GI scoping done recently?

Everyday I eat a medium to large apple in the morning and a large banana at night. I eat a cup of oatmeal in the evening. The ezekiel wheat bread I eat has a good amount of fiber. I haven't dealt with constipation for at least a year. Most of the time my feces are soft.
