I just got my genetic test results back and I would love it if someone could help explain them to me.  My two little girls were both diagnosed with Celiac Disease through biopsy two years ago.  I have been gluten free since they were diagnosed.  I've been having some stomach issues lately, so my doctor ordered a bunch of tests, one of which was celiac genetic test.  Here are the results

F HLA DQ2 Positive   AMD
F HLA DQ8 Negative   AMD
F HLA VARIANTS DETECTED: HLA DQA1* 01   AMD
F HLA DQA1* 05   AMD
F HLA DQB1* 0201   AMD
F HLA DQB1* 0501   AMD
F

You're positive on the DQ2 which is one of the celiac genes. It only takes one of them so you have the genetics.

I do not know.

the "a" and the "b", refer to alpha and beta.  the results are enumerating the different alleles.  all you needed was the top two lines.  BUT, if you have been gluten free, totally, then you should not be symptomatic of celiac.

Thank you ,it’s been a long road for me for having both now ,what upsets the most is that if they discovered that I also have cealiac earlier I would not have injested gluten if I was aware. Double whammy.

Some interesting articles regarding the use of Zinc Carnosine to help heal gastric ulcers, gastritis and intestinal permeability. I would consult a medical professional about it's use. https://www.nature.com/articles/ncpgasthep0778 https://www.rupahealth.com/post/clinical-applications-of-zinc-carnosine---evidence-review https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC7146259/ https://www.fallbrookmedicalcenter.com/zinc-l-carnosine-benefits-dosage-and-safety/
