HI

I've learned so much from the forum and now I'll share a product you all have talked about.

I was itching so badly and have seen so many posts about this and esp today with the Dove soap thread.

I just know this product has WORKED LIKE A MIRACLE FOR ME.

I got the body lotion, shampoo and conditioner and stopped itching right away.

I got the small bottles to sample to see if it worked and then went back and ordered the large bottles.

The nice thing is you order on line and all shipping costs are $3.99 no matter how much you order.

It comes within 2-3 days of getting your order. I think i ordered it at 11:00 pm on a Tuesday nite and had it on Thurs or Fri that same week.

I know there have been other posts re: this product on line so if you want to do a 'search' using the name I'm sure you'll find alot of other people who have good things to say.

Last time they threw in a free bar of soap to try.

Love this company.

I hope it works for you! I also hope this is the correct web site. I'm afraid to minimize this to ck and risk losing it. Do a PM to me at judy@jl-studio.com and i'll send it to you if this doesn't work.

when did you send it?

about 1/2 hr ago.

It was a cut and paste from the post re: test results

My test results on on that thread.

I also sent one to the gal who you just wrote to re: colon test and prep and don't know where it went either.

Hope you had a great Turkey day.

Welcome to the board. Are you being strict with the gluten free diet and avoiding iodine? While DH doesn't need iodine to flare iodine will keep the antibodies in the skin and increase the intensitiy of a gluten reaction.

Go with as much whole food as you can and be really strict with food, preperation and toiletries and the DH will go away but it does take time.

I've head to toe itching from June this year. I messed around with mistakes, tempations and after month or so of grief I got serious about going gluten-free. I started healing but I would still be itching all day/night.

NOTE: This is extreme and certainly not necessary for most forum members.

But CindyLouWho26 you might like to hear what is finally working for me:

FOOD:

I have had to get super super strict with my diet. 90% or more is meat, veg, fruit. I eat rice or rice noodles some days. There is one gluten-free brand of cereal (and only rice or corn flakes, rice pasta. Any of the ones containing too many ingredients is a problem) that I can tolerate.

This has allowed me a lot of freedom to experiment. Added raisins one day and spent 24 hours itching like crazy. Baked gluten-free cupcakes and only ate a little bit and itched. I have been able to add a tiny little bit of gluten-free soysauce. And yesterday I tried a gluten-free satay/peanut sauce that I didn't react to. Yey! finally something with flavour and no crazy additives.

HOUSEHOLD CLEANING:

I wear gloves to do the dishes and clean the house. I found any detergents irritated lumps and bumps on my wrist/hands.

Double check your laundry detergent. I use liquid as the powdered ones gave me trouble for years.

BATHROOM:

I have been washing myself (hair included) with bicarb soda. I hadn't had much luck finding safe products that were affordable (I'm in Australia). I did this reluctantly and doubtfully but figured it was worth having a go! Ive been doing this for about four weeks and my skin is so good now!! I won't be rushing out to replace that bicarb soda ;)

I'm going to try something natural(such as avocado, for conditioner).

I've avoided makeup for years ((I now know why  ))

I'm still use a nasty ingredient deoderant but only if I need it and hope to replace that with something natural.

In the last four weeks I have had a *massive* improvement in my itching. I had a rough night last night after too much seafood but all day today is probably the most itch-free day I've had since all this started. And I am saving a LOT of money.

Welcome to the celiac.com communiuty, @Matthias! Yes, we have been aware that this can be an issue with mushrooms but as long as they are rinsed thoroughly it should not be a problem since the mushrooms don't actually incorporate the gluten into their cellular structure. For the same reason, one needs to be careful when buying aged cheeses and products containing yeast because of the fact that they are sometimes cultured on gluten-containing substrate.

The one kind of food I had been buying and eating without any worry for hidden gluten were unprocessed veggies. Well, yesterday I discovered yet another pitfall: cultivated mushrooms. I tried some new ones, Shimeji to be precise (used in many asian soup and rice dishes). Later, at home, I was taking a closer look at the product: the mushrooms were growing from a visible layer of shredded cereals that had not been removed. After a quick web research I learned that these mushrooms are commonly cultivated on a cereal-based medium like wheat bran. I hope that info his helpful to someone.

I might suggest you consider buckwheat groats. https://www.amazon.com/Anthonys-Organic-Hulled-Buckwheat-Groats/dp/B0D15QDVW7/ref=sr_1_4_pp?crid=GOFG11A8ZUMU&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.bk-hCrXgLpHqKS8QJnfKJLKbKzm2BS9tIFv3P9HjJ5swL1-02C3V819UZ845_kAwnxTUM8Qa69hKl0DfHAucO827k_rh7ZclIOPtAA9KjvEEYtaeUV06FJQyCoi5dwcfXRt8dx3cJ6ctEn2VIPaaFd0nOye2TkASgSRtdtKgvXEEXknFVYURBjXen1Nc7EtAlJyJbU8EhB89ElCGFPRavEQkTFHv9V2Zh1EMAPRno7UajBpLCQ-1JfC5jKUyzfgsf7jN5L6yfZSgjhnwEbg6KKwWrKeghga8W_CAhEEw9N0.eDBrhYWsjgEFud6ZE03iun0-AEaGfNS1q4ILLjZz7Fs&dib_tag=se&keywords=buckwheat%2Bgroats&qid=1769980587&s=grocery&sprefix=buchwheat%2Bgroats%2Cgrocery%2C249&sr=1-4&th=1 Takes about 10 minutes to cook. Incidentally, I don't like quinoa either. Reminds me and smells to me like wet grass seed. When its not washed before cooking it makes me ill because of saponins in the seed coat. Yes, it can be difficult to get much dietary calcium without dairy. But in many cases, it's not the amount of calcium in the diet that is the problem but the poor uptake of it. And too much calcium supplementation can interfere with the absorption of vitamins and minerals in general because it raises gut pH.

What you’re describing really does not read like typical IBS-D. The dramatic, rapid normalization of stool frequency and form after removing wheat, along with improved tolerance of legumes and plant foods, is a classic pattern seen in gluten-driven disease rather than functional IBS. IBS usually worsens with fiber and beans, not improves. The fact that you carry HLA-DQ2.2 means celiac disease is absolutely possible, even if it’s less common than DQ2.5, and many people with DQ2.2 present later and are under-diagnosed. Your hesitation to reintroduce gluten is completely understandable — quality of life matters — and many people in your position choose to remain strictly gluten-free and treat it as medically necessary even without formal biopsy confirmation. If and when you’re ready, a physician can help you weigh options like limited gluten challenge, serology history, or documentation as “probable celiac.” What’s clear is that this wasn’t just random IBS — you identified the trigger, and your body has been very consistent in its response.
