safe Jams & Jellies

Sorry if this is old news, but I was looking for some jams or jelly to put on rice cakes with pb and so far I found a few brands that seem safe, gluten-free.

And Welch's seem safe.  But they have some licorce candies and other products that are not safe.  But apparently all their jams and jellies are fine. Open Original Shared Link

Smuckers sound like they don't claim gluten-free even though there is no gluten in their ingredients, so I'm avoiding those for now.  Who needs to risk it when the two above are safe.

But unfortunately a brand I used to enjoy from time to time that has lots of different flavors is sadly no more for me...I emailed the Trappist Monks facility and this is what their reply was:

"Thank you for your query.Products we sell are made with close adherence to strict health and safety regulations. Despite this, cross-contamination in small monastic facilities remains a possibility. Persons with high levels of sensitivity to particular ingredients should avoid ALL foods in our catalog.Best regards,Dan,Customer Service,Monastery Greetings,540 E 105TH ST STE 11,CLEVELAND, OH   44108"

I'm so happy Bonne Maman is gluten-free though.  They have yummy stuff.

I use Polaner Sugar Free, talked to a company rep, sugar free smuckers has been fine for the past year when I have to get some, lets see there were a few others companies I know but I no longer use them as I can not have sugar -_-

I use Smuckers, Polaner All Fruit and Wegmans store brand.  I do sometimes get an off brand or something from the Imported aisle and don't think I have ever encountered a jam or jelly that had a gluten issue.

Thanks for the replies.  It's nice to hear you've both had Smuckers with good luck.  Maybe I will try it. That must be hard at times, Ennis. having to avoid gluten and also sugar too.

hi, i want to say thank you to you and @trents   . after 2 phone calls to my GI, her office called me back to tell me that a blood test was “unnecessary” and that we should “follow the gold standard” and since my biopsy did not indicate celiac, to follow the no dairy and sucraid diet. i luckily have expendable income and made an appt for the labcorp blood test that day. i just got my results back and it indicates celiac disease i think 😭   im honestly happy bc now i KNOW and i can go gluten free. and i am SO MAD at this doctor for dismissing me for a simple blood test that wouldn’t have cost her anything !!!!!!!!!!! im sorry, im so emotional right now, i have been sick my whole life and never knew why, i feel so much better already   my results from labcorp:   Celiac Ab tTG TIgA w/Rflx Test Current Result and Flag Previous Result and Date Units Reference Interval t-Transglutaminase (tTG) IgA 01 28 High U/mL 0-3 Negative 0 - 3 Weak Positive 4 - 10 Positive >10 Tissue Transglutaminase (tTG) has been identified as the endomysial antigen. Studies have demonstrated that endomysial IgA antibodies have over 99% specificity for gluten sensitive enteropathy. Immunoglobulin A, Qn, Serum 01 245 mg/dL 87-352

      Thank you this really helped.

Okay that is really good to know. So with that being positive and the other being high it makes sense she diagnosed her even without the endoscopy. So glad we caught it early. She had so many symptoms though that to me it was clear something was wrong.   yeah I think we had better test us and the other kids as well.

One doctor suggested it, but then seemed irritated when I asked follow-up questions. Oh well—

@GlorietaKaro, your respiratory reactions to gluten make me wonder if there might also be an allergic (anaphylaxis) component at work here.
