While reading a thread here just now  and some of the responses several people said that prescription and over-the-counter medications never have gluten in them is this true I had spoken to the makers of Advil years ago and they told me that gelcaps do contain gluten?

I don't use any med that I have not checked, had a pharmacist check or that doesn't carry the gluten free label (OTC). Formulations change and that type of Advil may now be gluten free if it wasn't before. I would just use an alternative that was labeled gluten-free or call the company.

I read that thread too and it struck me as a blanket assertion that was maybe wise to be skeptical about.
