Months of GI issues got an Endoscopy today could I be Celiac

Hello all,

I’m new here and as of yet have no diagnosis but wanna throw some stuff out there.

This whole thing started when I started to have severe panic attacks at the end of April and started to have terrible GERD which made it hard to eat for a while.  I got checked at the Dr with a regular blood test and the like and it all came out normal.  I weighed about 146 pounds then which while low for me (5’11” 27 M). I shrugged off as me eating less and being more active.  So essentially it was all brushed off as a possible ulcer and I was told to take it easy and given anxiety meds (which I used to be on) I decided to give up caffeine and avoided some foods for the month of May and had on and off days of abdominal pain.   Quitting the caffeine made my panic attacks worse and i found myself sitting in the bathroom at work having to breath because with the pain/headaches I thought I was dying.  For a good long while I was having nearly constant D that was pretty stinky and a lot of suddenness.  I’d have to guess i was going at least 5-7 times a day for a while.  (I also had a similar thing in March where i got nauseous and dizzy for a week after a party where I ate a ton of food/drank.  I had GERD and D then too but that cleared up.

So around the beginning of June I got an appt with the doc and a GI to see what was up.  I was down to 140-141 and could see something wasn’t right.  (Granted the D wasn’t nearly as severe at this point). The regular doc put me on vsl#3 because it seemed that i wasn’t absorbing stuff and soon after I went to the GI I told him everything and i had a colonoscopy on the 25th of that month.

On the follow up for that all the biopsies turned out fine which worried me. Granted my weight had been stable at 140-141lbs since the last time.

I’ve had some muscle weakness (like i worked out and my muscles are shakey) this is usually worse in the morning and can get better during the day.  Tongue also seems to swell in my sleep. Ive also had on and off Geographic tongue.  I’ve also had muscle spasms (twitches?) in different places like my legs , sometimes in arms sometimes in abdomen as well as some stiffness in my hands.

So we scheduled blood-work with the tTG stuff,B12, folate, etc being tested and an endoscopy.   I had the blood-work on Sat and the endoscopy today and here are the current biopsied things.

LA Grade B reflux esophagitis.

Z-line regular, 44 cm from the incisors

Gastritis. Biopsied x2

Erythematous duodenopathy

Scalloped mucosa was found in the duodenum, suspicious for celiac disease

I dunno if this is the right forum for this but I wanted to see if anyone else’s story lined up similarly with what I’ve been going through.  And I’ll update as I find out what’s up.

Thanks everybody and have a great Monday!

Hi!

Your posting was overlooked (we are all volunteers).    I am so sorry.  Just want to find out if you received a diagnosis and if you are doing okay.

They both do.  The peanuts add nutrients to the treat. Tootsie Roll: Sugar, Corn Syrup, Palm Oil, Condensed Skim Milk, Cocoa, Whey, Soy Lecithin, Artificial and Natural Flavors. M&M Peanut: milk chocolate (sugar, chocolate, skim milk, cocoa butter, lactose, milkfat, peanuts, soy lecithin, salt, natural flavor), peanuts, sugar, cornstarch; less than 1% of: palm oil, corn syrup, dextrin, colors (includes blue 2 lake, blue 1 lake, red 40, yellow 6 lake, yellow 5, yellow 6, blue 1, yelskim milk contains caseinlow 5 lake, blue 2, red 40 lake), carnauba wax, gum acacia. glycemic index of Tootsie Rolls ~83 gycemic index of M&M Peanuts ~33   The composition of non-fat solids of skim milk is: 52.15% lactose, 38.71% protein (31.18% casein, 7.53% whey protein), 1.08% fat, and 8.06% ash.   https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/9781118810279.ch04  Milkfat carries the fat soluble vitamins A, D, E, and K. But M&M's contain milk, and would not be at all like a Tootsie Roll.

I appreciate you validating me because medical is an issue and it's not ok at all they they do this. Some days I just want to call the news media and just call out these doctors especially when they are supposed to be specialist Downplaying when gluten-free when they should know gluten-free is false negative. Now dealing with other issues and still crickets for disability because I show no signs of celiac BECAUSE IM GLUTENFREE! Actively dealing with sibo and skin issues.Depression is the key because thats all they know, im depressed because medical has caused it because of my celiac and related issues. I should have never ever been employed as a bus driver. After 3 years still healing and ZERO income desperately trying to get better but no careteam for celiac other than stay away frim wheat! Now im having care because my head is affected either ms or meningioma in go in tomorrow again for more scans.I know im slowly dying and im looking like a disability chaser

M&M Peanuts. About the same calories and sugar while M&M Peanuts have fiber, potassium, iron and protein that Tootsie Rolls ("We are currently producing more than 50 million Tootsie Rolls each day.") don't. Click the links to compare nutritional values.  Both are made with sugar, not high fructose corn syrup.  I use them as a gluten free substitute for a peanut butter sandwich.  Try her on grass fed, pasture fed milk. While I get heartburn at night from commercial dairy milk, I do not from 'grassmilk'.

I see it everyday on my feeds.  They go out and buy gluten-free processed products and wonder why they can't heal their guts.  I don't think they take it as a serious immune disease. They pick up things off the internet which is so far out in left field.  Some days I would just like to scream.  So much better when we had support groups and being able to teach them properly. I just had an EMA blood test because I haven't had one since my Doctor moved away.  Got test results today, doctor ordered a D3 vitamin test.  Now you know what  type of doctors we have.  Now I will have to pay for this test because she just tested my D3 end of December, and still have no idea about my EMA.
