Shady Brook Ground Turkey

A local store had Shady Brook ground turkey (85% lean) on sale, so I contacted the company. Packages say it contains turkey and natural flavoring.  Their website says the natural flavoring is:

*Natural flavoring is rosemary extract that works as an antioxidant in the meat, but does not impart a rosemary taste.

For me, I can't have corn or soy either, so I contacted the company.  This was their reply:

"Thank you for contacting Cargill Protein; we are always happy to hear from our customers and answer your concerns.
Honeysuckle White 85% Lean Ground Turkey contains only ground turkey meat and the extract of rosemary. The extract of rosemary contains Refined, Bleached and Deodorized Soybean Oil as a processing aid and does not contain the allergen.
We appreciate your interest in our products.
Sincerely,

So, I have not tried it yet, but probably will sometime.  I hope they are accurate and that no soy is left in it after the way it is processed.   Anyone else tried this ground turkey (who has a soy issue) and been okay with it?  It sounds hopeful.

Cargill is a MAJOR meat processor, I was at my restaurant supply store yesterday and found they made 8 different types of patties, 6 types of ground meats that I found and was asking about. they are quite sure of allergens and each lines has its own dedicated machines running....so while some patties and products might contain, wheat, corn or soy, they have their own processing and packing machines.

Oh and a few F'ed up facts about restaurant bulk bought meats....most of the time the bulk packages do not say what is in the meats. YOU HAVE to call and give a product number to get ingredients and allergens -__- I spent 40mins in a warehouse sized freezer (imagine Home Depot racks and pallets...with food to the ceiling, and the half the place is below 0F) pulling numbers and making phone calls to find safe products for my catering. Bright side, I got several safe 40ct boxes of 4oz pure Angus beef patties for me to seasons the way I WANT and keep them safe and it only cost me $26 a box. Even Nima tested the patties to be sure.

But seriously that place is disturbing and awesome at the same time....all that food, those prices, but they way they handle it and label it.....bit scary.

Oh your soy concern, I have seen that rosemary etc so much on them and they normally do not even put th soy warning on them. Fact is with allergens you can react to certain proteins and protein chains. If they can refine it enough to remove the proteins that trigger the normal reaction then it will not give you the reaction, but who is to say which particular chains you react to. IE some corn allergy suffers do not react to citric acid from corn some do.

So it's basically just trial and error?  Everyone might be different with items like this?

I particularly try to get lots of red meat, mostly beef.  I'm slightly anemic, which isn't uncommon in celiacs.  Red meat is healthy for us and the environment.
