I Figured I Had Celiac

Haven't been to a doctor.Symptoms not the most severe kind.Just can't eat my favorite foods for the discomfort. That and an enteroLab Gene Test sort of diagnosed me or convinces me what I've been feeling is Celiac. Some doctors probably wouldn't have done better at diagnosing me. I've the two major genes that causes Celiac, the wicked witch of the North AND the wicked witch of the South (north celiac and south celiac),I guess I'm super lucky. Now mind, everyone carrying the genes won't come down with it,like, none of my family members seem to have it nor my recent ancestors. They digest regular wheat products well enough. But not me ,I'm on gluten free bread mixes, for all my bread needs, and I'm really glad they make such products.

My symptoms were noticable right away,The first and most obvious were days of abdomen discomfort after eating pasta, bread, pretzels going back as far as five yrs. ago. Then occasional floating stools-which amazed everyone. And until I recently switched to gluten free,I was having odd shaped stools, all lumpy and bulbous, instead of the all even smooth ones I'd been used to having. After a gluten free diet I'm back to normal but I was getting worried, perplexed at the strange symptoms and all. Then this June I thought "I might have that Celiac condition".I had never read up on it though I had heard of it,so I searched the Internet, and found this site and others and I'm glad I did.

Hi Candy! and welcome to the board! And congratulations on taking the initiative to take care of yourself. Celiac, treated properly, is no where near a death sentence. And as far as other things considered, you don't have to take expensive meds for the rest of your life. You have done what's called a diet challenge which is a very valid diagnostic tool (that's how I was dx'd 9 yrs ago by my gp) and should be recognized by any one in the medical field. If anyone asks you to go back onto gluten to get a different test done, refuse. Anyhow, the floaty stools are from malabsorption and usually have a high fat content, and are very indicative of celiac disease. Now all you have to do is watch out for all of the hidden glutens in other areas besides food - lotions, shampoo, conditioners, hair sprays.... But feel free to post any questions and be sure to read through a lot of the older posts - there's a wealth of information here. As a matter of fact, I've learned more in the four months since I've joined than in all of my years with celiac combined!

Do you or anyone know alot about ibuprofen  I wasn't sure if I was eating too much apple sauce.   Something is making my pain so much worse  I'm referring to the intense pins and needles in my feet and lower legs.  Jaw actually has tardive dystonia and muscle spasms throughout my back Almost like an opposite effect that a pain reliever would do. I'm fairly new to this. Whatever is going on seems to be worsening  Do people get a withdrawal effect from gluten?  It's extremely painful 😖  I'll post that question or research on the site  Thank you everyone for responding

I think I found a huge culprit for severe reactions to create worsening of my c symptoms. Do people with celiac have sensitivity and /or have opposite reaction to certain medications Where can I find a list ?  I'm new here I'm.wondering why I am getting worse when I take certain medicine...the burning feet.  Rebound muscle pain so intense  How many people get opposite effects or have a horrible attack after these meds

Does anyone know if that includes scrambled eggs and healthy smart butter (,gluten free) I add a very tiny amount of margarine less than a teaspoon.  I did no't have any bread    It just seems like no matter what I eat my stomach and nerves over fire and here comes a host of horrible symptoms. My lower abdomen feels horrible, my right leg thigh muscle.. very odd. Jaw pain. Burning feet , joint pain , you name it  The anxiety just creeps up into brain fog. I don't think I could explain this to anyone who is unfamiliar.  Also,  I most likely will not remember posting this until I check it.  This is highly unusual for me because I have an excellent memory.  One weekend before I knew anything about celiac I lost an entire weekend from severe brain fog, confusion, pain, etc.  I honestly thought I was losing my mind. When I think back I recall eating a lot of PBJ sandwiches and turkey sandwiches.  Once again did not know about gluten.  I was just too sick to cook. Do people fast during attacks ?? It seems horrible to keep going through this. I hope I'm not causing my own problems... I wonder if I should fast because I'm not eating gluten .  Chicken ,  scrambled eggs no milk , canned carrots,  gluten free low sugar low fat Greek yogurt which I already posted about 😞 Any suggestions I am open... I am bedridden when this happens to me.  Thank you Celiac community. 🙏🏻❤️

Yeah, that sounds super familiar. When inflammation levels are high — especially at the start of changing your diet — the body often develops a fructose and lactose intolerance. Unfortunately, the only thing that really helps is cutting out anything that isn’t lactose-free or that contains sugar. So basically, stick to meat, veggies, fish…
