Will this affect my results?

Last Wednesday I was at my local hospital for horrible stomach pains among many other symptoms.  Based off labs done there, my symptoms and labs my rhuematologist had recently ordered the doctor was pretty positive I have celiac. He informed me he was going to order the testing and to stay away from gluten in the meantime.  I just found out today that the tests were never done so I have to go to my family physician this Thursday to have it done. Since I've cut gluten out for almost a week will this affect my results?

I think you will be fine if it is just a week.  Most ER doctors do not have the authority to order celiac disease tests.   Seeing your own family doctor is best.  Get back on gluten!  Eat a donut for me.  If you can (insurance, other restrictions), ask for the complete panel.

A much better suggestion than that of the new doctor!

Have you considered putting her on the autoimmune protocol diet?

I suggested she just not eat gluten ans still have the scope because of the pain she has been having.  She has lost significant weight and is failure to thrive at almoat 21.  She has had GERD and bleeding ulcers previously and is having those issues now.  She also has systemic sclerosis, so we know those things are issues with that.  We will find her a new doctor back home too.

Not only is the doctor being ridiculous, having her make herself ill so he can re-diagnose her already diagnosed celiac disease, but one week of gluten, while able to cause GI symptoms, might not be enough to cause new damage visible with a biopsy. So if she follows his advice he might say she doesn’t have celiac disease! She needs a different doctor.
