Well, the dr. said that just by looking everything looked totally normal with Jack. He did say that there was still quite a bit of stool left inside of him even after the enemas from yesterday so he feels that his problem could be constipation with diarrhea overflow. Has anyone ever heard of that? Would that cause blood in the stool as well as lack of weight gain? He has an appetite usually and eats quite well, so he really shouldn't be losing/maintaining.

We don't yet have the results of the malabsorption test or the blood panel, so I guess we'll just have to wait and see. His dr. wants to see him again next Tuesday. He should have biopsy results by then as well.

Jack is doing pretty well although he is wobbly on his feet. It was probably harder on dh and I to have to leave him before the procedure.

I just wanted to update.

      I'm 67 and have been celiac for 17yrs. I had cataract surgery and they put a gluten lens in my eye. Through a lot of research, I found out about MMA acrylic...it contains gluten. It took 6 months for me to find a DR that would remove it and replace it with a gluten-free lens . I have lost some vision in that eye because of it . I also go to a prosthodontist instead of a regular dentist because they are specialized. He has made me a night guard and a few retainers with no issues... where my regular dentist didn't care. I have really bad reactions to gluten and I'm extremely sensitive, even to CC. I have done so much research on gluten-free issues because of these Drs that just don't care. Gluten is in almost everything shampoo, lotion, food, spices, acrylic, medication even communion wafers! All of my Drs know and believe me I remind them often.... welcome to my world!

      If this applies geographically, in the U.K., physicians will often declare a diagnosis of celiac disease based on the TTG-IGA antibody blood test alone if the score is 10x normal or greater, which your score is. There is very little chance the endoscopy/biopsy will contradict the antibody blood test.

      What was the reference range for that test? Each lab uses different reference ranges so a raw score like that makes it difficult to comment on. But it looks like a rather large number.

      I have had the tTG-IgA blood test my result are >250.0  I am waiting for the appointment with the gastroenterologist for endoscopy and biopsies.    what are the chances it’s not coeliacs.  waiting and not knowing is so hard. Especially the eating of gluten knowing it may be causing you more harm and coping with the symptoms.
