has anyone been able to get their insurance to cover tests that have been run by prometheus lab? since my son's original test came back IgA deficient, he has to have a different test run, and th ped gi's office tells me that this is the only lab to do it. we have had a lot of trouble with this insurance company. i can just imagine that every time i call them they get a red flag on their computer that says "WARNING: HOSTILE" LOL!!! can you sue a medical ins. company for pain and suffering??!!LOL!!

Our Ped GI fopund a way around it. if they send the blood to Mayo Clinic, Mayo will forward it to Prometheus and Ins. will cover it. We just went through this testing with my son and daughter and we recommend that you go ahead and run all the tests, the 5 panel screen and the CeliaGene test. We're having to go back for more testing - more sticks - and my 3 year old isn't happy.

Chrissy- That's where my blood just went for the gene test via Beth Israel Hospital but I haven't heard anything about insurance not covering it. I have Harvard Pilgrim. What do you have? B

our insurance is called ODS---based in oregon, but we live in idaho.

      Trying to read my lab results

      Hi Scott, yes I have had symptoms for years and this is the second GI I have seen and he could not believe I have never been tested. He called later today and I am scheduled for an endoscopy. Is there a way to tell how severe my potential celiac is from the results above? What are the chances I will have the biopsy and come back negative and we have to keep...

      Constant low back, abdominal and pelvic pain!

      I agree christina, there is definitely many contributing factors! I have the pain today, my pelvis, hips and thighs ache! No idea why. But i have been sitting at work for 3 days so im thinking its my back. This disease is very mysterious (and frustrating) but not always to blame for every pain.

      Perhaps I should also have said that in addition to showing a very high response to gluten, her stool study showed that she had extreme reactions to everything achievement on it long course of microbials to treat that.
