Question About Antibody Tests

Hi. My doctor has ordered these antibody blood tests:

Anti-Cardiolipin IgG

Anti-Gliadin Antibody IgA

Anti-Gliadin Antibody IG

First, i'm not sure about the first one Anti-Cardiolipin IgG, since I have not read about it. Wouldn't the Anti-tissue transglutaminase Antibody (tTG), IgA test be better?

Also, I've been on a gluten-free diet for 2 weeks now, and I want to ask if I should take the test now, or eat gluten for a few days and then take the test? How long then should I delay?

From I've read I believe the tTG test is better, but since the lab at the hospital does not do this, how reliable are the above three tests in indicating celiac disease?

Thanks for the help!!

Check out the FAQ section on this website. For the blood test to be accurate, the patient should be eating 0.3 of gluten per kilogram of body weight for 2 months before the test. That works out to about one slice of bread for every 18 pounds of bodyweight.

If you're on a gluten-free diet, the test will probably be negative. That's why so many people on these boards have had negative test results, but are celiacs nonetheless.

The Lindt (Lindor) dairy-free oat milk truffles are definitely gluten-free, and (last time I checked) so are the white chocolate truffles and the mint chocolate truffles.

I've used magnesium taurinate and magnesium taurate vitamins.  Didn't notice much of a difference when I used them.

More great tips, and a good excuse to shop at M&S and also buy more iced buns!   I wish we had an ASDA near us, as the few times we've been to one their gluten-free pasta range seemed very reasonably priced compared to other shops.  Thanks so much, @Russ H.
