Nausea symptom

My doctor, General Practitioner, told me I have celiac disease as a result of the blood work test I had recently.  I was referred to a GI doctor, but because of the lockdown appt was cancelled. (Bloodwork:  DQ2 came up positive, DQ8 was negative, H pylori AG.LC was negative.)  My issue is I feel nauseous after eating. It’s tolerable but the feeling of being nauseous is something I never felt before except when I was pregnant many years ago.    If I eat a lot, the more I feel it, but I don’t throw up.  I feel nauseous, too, when I wake up in the middle of the night. That’s the only symptom I have, so far.  Is this normal? Pls advise and thanks.

Well, if those were the only tests run, I would have to say it is possible you are celiac but the tests you had done are not enough to say for sure. You need more diagnostic work done. You have the chromosome for it but that doesn’t mean you have active celiac.
as for the nausea, yes, nausea is a symptom for some people. There are a lot of symptoms. Don’t stop eating gluten until after you are tested with a celiac panel and have an endoscopy. If you stop before, it’ll mess up results.

Good point, as thyroid conditions are more common in those with celiac disease: https://www.celiac.com/celiac-disease/celiac-disease-amp-related-diseases-and-disorders/thyroid-pancreatic-disorders-and-celiac-disease/

@DebD5 it sounds like you are in the super sensitive celiac disease zone--and if so your reactions are real, and not psychological, as your doctor implied.  It's also possible you have other dietary triggers so be sure to look at that article in my last post in this thread.
