Skurtz you are way out of line here. This forum is a place where people with celiac can come and share their knowledge and experiences with this disease. You have asked many questions and have been given good and sound advice from people who have had far more experience with celiac than you. If you don't like the answers you are getting then why are you wasting everyone's time by asking questions? Nini is one of the most knowledgeable members of this forum and for you to make a personal attack on her is simply uncalled for.

I may have asked for insight but I suggest you look back at nini remarks it is her who has made the personal attacks. As I stated before I do appreciate the help But I FEEL that She has PERSONALLY ATTACKED ME, with sarcastic remarks. Hey whatever that is how I FELT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! & your right I probably have received good sound advice & Im sure everyone or just about everyone knows more then me about Celiac. Im just trying to the best for my kids & whatever.

Rachel--24 Collaborator

I don't see anything sarcastic in Nini's posts. Perhaps you misunderstood her intentions? As far as I know she was just quoting information that the learned from a Celiac Specialist who spoke in her recent support group meeting. All we are trying to do here is give people the most information we can so that they can make informed decisions. I believe knowledge is power and when it comes to our health we should learn all we can.

maybe I did misunderstand , I do however agree with the 2nd part of your reply.

I just went back through this entire thread and no where on here could I see anything that could even be remotely construed as sarcastic. I was simply trying to help. When I stated my opinion I added specifically on there that it was my opinion. The rest of the info was from a renowned Celiac Specialist. A Dr. with a very busy Gastroenterology practice that speaks to support groups around the country and is a reference source for many of the books on Celiac that are out now. She spoke at our meeting last week and I was simply trying to relay some of the infomation that she shared. In no way was it my opinion, nor was it ever an attack.

You specifically stated that unless I was an expert you were going with the advice you are getting from your sons NURSE. Fine. I was just trying to help you with answering the questions I thought you were asking.

I spent 33 years of my life very ill and am only trying to help prevent others from going that long without a dx. If you do not want to benefit from my experience that is your choice, but you are taking chances with your sons health. Again. I was only trying to help, but I guess you didn't really want my help, since you kept confusing me with Rachel anyway.

I AM SORRY, I took your comments as a direct hit like Im not trying to do what is BEST for my SON.

I do appreciated the info or I wouldnt have been asking. Once again I am sorry

Guest nini

apology accepted. it's easy to misconstrue someone's intentions in an online forum, but I promise you, my intentions were only to help by directly answering the specific questions you asked to the best of my ability.

Yeah, that sounds super familiar. When inflammation levels are high — especially at the start of changing your diet — the body often develops a fructose and lactose intolerance. Unfortunately, the only thing that really helps is cutting out anything that isn’t lactose-free or that contains sugar. So basically, stick to meat, veggies, fish…

I have trouble with nausea. It often starts when I’m anxious about something (home repairs, sick dog) but continues long after the home is repaired or the dog is healthy again. When it happens I eat less and lose weight.  My gastroenterologist suggested ginger or peppermint tea. I don’t know if that will work or not because I haven't had the problem since she suggested it.

Hello  I'm not sure what to think . Seems no matter what I do I get sick. I had some yogurt with only 2 grams of sugar and is labeled gluten free ...the strawberry version seemed to really set me off My jaw is burning as well as my stomach and my feet.  Horrible pain..plus acid reflux and nausea... sensitivity to touch pain. ..yikes !! I don't know if it's from the lactose in the yogurt or if I'm getting an ulcer  This condition can make you question yourself quite a bit.  Then if you are not sure the anxiety comes 😞 Does any of these symptoms sound familiar to anyone? The neuropathy is quite intense.  What do you eat or drink after this happens  Open to suggestions  Thank you

Of course my son is on a 100% gluten free diet.  I wish his symptoms were not debilitating as there are right now.  He cannot work, even when a miniscule of cross contamination occurs.  It's not just GI distress, but intense fatigue, brain fog, depression, anxiety, insomnia, etc.  It's literally neurological inflammation.  Not to be taken lightly here.  We have sought out many other possible ways to cope during this window of time (8 months!!!!)  without success.   AN-PEP does not help and seems like studies on this are not well researched.  So, we are trying this out because research shows some promising results.  And, all participants showed no cravings afterwards, no signs of addiction.  The patch is different than the oral route such as smoking, vaping, gum, pouch, etc.

Have you tried AN-PEP enzymes, for example, GlutenX (who is a sponsor here)? A lot of research has shown that it can break down small amounts of gluten in the stomach, before it reaches the intestines. It might be a better approach than risking nicotine addiction, and the questionable research around this. I also hope that he’s trying to be 100% Gluten-Free.
