this was a pretty good one..  she works at the local hospital and has other celiac clients as well...

She had all my history from my Gastro dr...

she said I should probably get all my vitamin and mineral levels tested but B12 was normal.. Iron was normal but towards the lower end of normal.. which I guess is why my Dr said to take a multi V with iron in it.

I brought up my Dizziness.. and she didn't seem to think it had anything to do with celiac... ( although there are many people here complaining about dizziness too )  ...…. she said it may be due to malabsorption...   she said I should go see a Dr about it...…..

I’ve used tinctures and made my own edibles with gluten-free ingredients to stay safe. Dispensary staff don’t always know about gluten, so I double-check labels or just make my own.

It's great to hear that there are some good doctors out there, and this is an example of why having a formal diagnosis can definitely be helpful.

Update: I have a wonderful new gastroenterologist. She wants to be sure there’s nothing more serious, like refractory celiac, going on. She ordered various tests including some micronutrient tests that no one has ever ordered before.  I’m deficient in folate and zinc and starting supplements for both. I’m so glad I decided to go to a new GI!

Autoimmune diseases tend to cluster. Many of them are found close together on the chromosomes.

Just giving another update... I was referred to rheumatology, and they suspect that I may also be dealing with fibromyalgia (it has not been formally diagnosed, but just suggested at this point).  So, I am continuing with the anti-inflammatory diet and vitamins and still working to keep getting rid of all these hidden gluten sources, but I also do have another possible explanation for some of the issues that I'm dealing with.
