Celery good or bad?

Hello everyone

I am new to this forum but I have a random food intolerance question, is celery bad re-active with any of you? I have noticed lately every time I have tried to eat it and it seems to get stuck in my esophagus and I can not swallow. I am bleching excessively and it has got me super freaked out :(

Did the same with a salmon fillet on the weekend I felt it may have been too fatty, it is sadly disappointing as it was one of my favourite things to eat.

Being a Pesco-vegetarian/ Celiac finding daily food really a struggle to have a good food day.

Hope you are all keeping safe and well with all the Covid-19 restrictions.

Hi,

I don''t have the same reaction to celery as you. but I don't eat it.  It does make me sick.  In Europe celery is recognized as a major allergen.  More info in link.

Try a search on celery allergy and you will find lots of info.

Hi Naisy,

I don’t do well with celery either. I don’t have the same reaction about not being able to swallow it but do feel bloated, gassy, my stomach rumbles and causes me to belch a lot. I wasn’t aware of these symptoms until I knew I had celiac about 3 months ago. Then took a food sensitivity test and realized celery was also causing problems along with many other fruits and vegetables. (Not the same symptoms for all the foods I have to avoid for now).

Your response on this matter is what I expect. You’ve had a similar episode years ago, but this one is lasting longer!

I'd like to clarify: Is the pain you describe in the area just below your chest constant, or does it only appear when you start moving?
