Does this look like DH

I have been having this rash come and go since Feb. My biopsy is Sept 1st.
I’m kind of concerned it will clear up before then even though I will keep eating gluten.

Do you mean an intestinal biopsy or do you refer to a skin biopsy?

Skin biopsy

To me the images seem consistent with DH, but to confirm this you'd need to go to a dermatologist who understands DH and knows how to do the biopsy.

Can I assume that you are eating gluten daily? If not, your test may be a false negative. If you are eating gluten I'd also recommend that you get a blood screening done for celiac disease:

@Jfish Did you ever get a result? I have had an off-and-on rash on knees/elbows that looks EXACTLY like that. Because I'm already on a gluten-free diet, getting diagnosed through the traditional route is complicated. Thanks!

It looks just like mine, only without the scabs from scratching!

Looks very similar... but if it doesn’t blister over then it ain’t DH! The immune system sends an antibody to pressure points which causes the rash, but the “gluten bumps” always form an ever so fragile blister to protect the antibody... Do not stop eating gluten before your biopsy of affected rash area or you will get a false reading. Bn dealing with it since Nov 2004. Dg’d December 2006. 100% gluten-free diet is best and only cure... Dapsone is a very dangerous drug if taken long term.

Btw, if the rash is DH, you can use a white paper towel or clean white cloth, you can literally rub off the blisters til the skin peels; dawb (sp?), or soak up the liquid from the rubbed off area of new skin and the itch goes away. But it will leave a slight lighter patch of skin, kind of like a temporary scarring... Your welcome. 😇

This article has some detailed information on how to be 100% gluten-free, so it may be helpful (be sure to also read the comments section.):

Great! Just what I was looking for.  Thanks, Scott.

Wheat flour is fortified with vitamins in the U.S. as a part of USDA policy. Gluten free facsimile products are not fortified. There is no government mandate for such. When you remove wheat flour by going gluten free, you may be removing a significant source of vitamins.

Okay.  That doesn't answer the question, but thanks anyway.
