Will my villi ever heal?

I was diagnosed with DH in 2015 - had a positive punch biopsy of lesion on knee.  I have been gluten-free (and have not cheated) since then but a recent endoscopy showed that I still have mild villous blunting/atrophy and increased intraepithelial lymphocytes.  Everything I've read says that the villi should return to normal 6 mo- 2 years after starting gluten-free diet.  Has anyone else had this issue and what does it mean? Thank you!

Hi I have RCD2 and villous atrophy have been like it for about 5 years now. I don't worry about it anymore just accepted that I have got it.

The main issue in life is be positive, and get on with your life and be safe

At the moment I have lost about 3 kilo in the past 9 months and the amount of food I eat which is a lot. I weigh under 9st however I have been very thin all of my life. I am not absorbing a lot of nutrients from my food. It seems what ever I eat comes out the other end.

I have been seeing a Professor for the last 7years every 3 months and I have had enough. So I don't think I will be going back anymore and I'm going to finish seeing him.

Hi Scott, yes I have had symptoms for years and this is the second GI I have seen and he could not believe I have never been tested. He called later today and I am scheduled for an endoscopy. Is there a way to tell how severe my potential celiac is from the results above? What are the chances I will have the biopsy and come back negative and we have to keep searching for a cause?

I agree christina, there is definitely many contributing factors! I have the pain today, my pelvis, hips and thighs ache! No idea why. But i have been sitting at work for 3 days so im thinking its my back. This disease is very mysterious (and frustrating) but not always to blame for every pain.

"her stool study showed she had extreme reactions to everything achievement on it long course of microbials to treat that." The wording of this part of the sentence does not make any sense at all. I don't mean to insult you, but is English your first language? This part of the sentence sounds like it was generated by translation software.

What kind of stool test was done? Can you be more specific?

Perhaps I should also have said that in addition to showing a very high response to gluten, her stool study showed that she had extreme reactions to everything achievement on it long course of microbials to treat that.
