More Than Gluten Intolerance

I have more problems than just being Gluten Intolerant.  I have problems with Parabens (all of them) and all sugar alcohols/artificial sweeteners.  I believe I have a hormonal effect with ingesting or applying any of these ingredients wheather it be  in food or cosmetics. I get exhausting fatigue, brain fog, flu like symptoms, headaches, stomach issues and just an unwell feeling.  Has anyone had the same issues?  Thank you!

Welcome to the forum, Dixzechic! Love your user name! Very creative.

Sugar alcohols and me don't get along either. Mostly they just give me the toots as far as I can tell. Intolerance to sugar alcohols is not uncommon.

I have several other allergies as well, I'm 59 and just found out I had any allergies, so yes sounds to me like you may have the Mtfhr Gene?  In fact my daughter is the one who pushed me to get tested.  I started out with a skin rash that was considered Atopic dermatitis.  Now I think it was all the Celiac rash,  but the triggers were eternal and once one allergy blew up, the rest popped up as well.  To include histamine intollerance, Dairy, Soy, and Wheat, several foods that I can no longer eat.

I have never heard of this gene, apparently none of my many doctor’s as well.  Who would I see for this? Ty

Thought was finished with this but a friend just sent email saying she takes Tirosin liquid levothyroxine which has no fillers (mentioned by Pgetha above).  Friend's doc sends script to one of Tirosin's direct-mail pharmacies.  Looking that up, government insurance (Medicare/Medicaid) doesn't cover (as Pgetha wrote above).  But if use one of their direct-mail places three month supply is $57/month.  Researching that, happened to learn Yaral also makes a generic gluten-free levothyroxine.

Lysine is helpful for "cold sores" (oral herpes).

As a life.long celiac, I understand this.  I simply ask that the medical profession stop disregarding the fact that it should remain a concern for some. It cost me a lot of medical discomforts.

@dmallbee, about 8% of celiacs react to the oat protein avenin like they do to the wheat protein gluten. In addition, there are some cultivars of oats that apparently do actually contain gluten.
