If you have celiac disease or food intolerances and live in and around New Hampshire (USA), come join us at Open Original Shared Link! Currently the message board is up and running. The rest of the site will be up soon as well. I hope to connect celiacs in the area, review local restaurants, provide a guide of stores that sell gluten-free foods (such as which stores carry what products), provide a support group meeting calendar, and more.

We need your participation! This is a non-profit site. I am paying for this myself because I feel we need it in our area.

Thank you! :)

Christine

Christine-

We are planning on starting a support group outside Philly Pa

Can I ask you some questions about how you started yours?

1. know it's non profit. Why did you decide to go this way instead of assoc. with a group such as csa?

2. where do you hold your meetings? Do you pay for the site?

3. do you have a membership fee?

4. what do you use for a meeting format?

5. do you pay for guest speakers?

6. how did you get your 'core' working' group together.

I guess after reading this alot of the questions might be answered on your site.

will go there now. didn't realize it was there till i went to the end..and then saw your name.

Hi! Well, the site is not affiliated with any particular support group. I just decided we needed something like this in our area for celiacs to communicate. I am just paying for it myself right now, as my way of "giving back" I guess. In the future maybe I will sponsor it with my company (a small, home-based gluten-free gourmet food company). The other administrator on there may co-sponsor it too. His wife is starting a gluten-free baked good company. That means we will handle the costs associated with the site and the people coming on won't have to pay or donate or anything (hopefully). We are new at this so right now we are just happy to have it up and running somewhat.

So, we don't have actual meetings or a membership fee or anything. There are a couple of links to our local groups however and maybe you can contact them. They do hold meetings etc. Just go on the site message board under "events" and you'll see contact info.

I hope that helps a little bit.

Chris

It can take longer than 6 months for antibodies to drop to the normal range,  My DGP IgA took a few years as I got stricter and stricter about being gluten free  But having symptoms again could also mean you’re getting some gluten in your diet.

Hi, I just had my 6 month check after being diagnosed Celiac 6 months ago.  All of my panel numbers were normal except: Deamidated Gliadin Abs, IgA (It is 31 with high being over 30)  I have also been having symptoms again. Am I not actually being as careful as I think I am or does it take longer than 6 months for this particular test to come back down?  I can't get ahold of my doctor this week as she is out.     Thank you!

That is very strange, because it looks to me like two very different test results, but for the same test! It's definitely time to contact your doctor for clarity on this.

Same day which is strange to me.

Scott, thank you SO MUCH for this!! She has been through so much in the last three years as we've tried to track down answers. This language will definitely help me help her to reframe.
