I think this may have a lot to do with general awareness about celiac disease, the huge range of symptoms it can present with and moving away from the dated paradigm that celiac disease a will necessarily manifest itself in childhood or not at all, all leading to much higher per capita testing rates. -

I was a a 16 BMI when I was diagnosed at 18 years old. I only weighed 100 pounds. I'm pretty sure I was celiac by age one with what I know now. The doctors took so long to diagnose me because they didn't think I was underweight enough to be celiac. -

Thank you to everyone for all the feedback. I have started with the basic supplements suggested. I went yesterday to our local health food store and purchased some vegan choices to replace dairy. I did not realize that some products are fortified and have iodine added in. Any recommendations for non dairy milk? non dairy cheese?
