Hey All! New to your forum.. I am looking for support through my gluten journey, hoping for some suggestions to help navigate this new lifestyle.

I never had gluten issues until a traumatic event in February 2023. All of a sudden after this event in my life now I have all sorts of issues. Chronic constipation, headaches, brain fog, fatigue, muscle cramps and really HORRIBLE PAIN under my left rib constantly. Months and months of doctors and blood tests with no explanation. GI Dctrs are no help here no one seems to believe me that it might be gluten and I can’t see any dctr for minimum a year booked out. I finally started putting things together and realized I’m sensitive to gluten possibly slightly celiac. I cut out gluten 3 months ago most of the symptoms have subsided except I can’t get a firm grasp on the visits to the bathroom. It’s better but still not great. If I eat gluten 10 minutes later im

bloated feeling awful for about a week to 10 days and I now can’t eat ice cream! If I have ice cream INSTANT under RIB PAIN is back and just feel awful after! I’ve never had any food issues in my life . I’ve increased water intake and salads a lot. Any suggestions on how to navigate through what I truly am dealing with or how to change these vists more frequently?

Many people with celiac disease, especially those who are in the 0-2 year range of their recovery, have additional food intolerance issues which could be temporary. To figure this out you may need to keep a food diary and do an elimination diet over a few months.

Some common food intolerance issues are dairy/casein, eggs, corn, oats, and soy. The good news is that after your gut heals (for most people who are 100% gluten-free this will take several months to two years) you may be able to slowly add some these items back into your diet after the damaged villi heal.

      Before the rise of social media we were well known by a lot of doctors and were recommended by many, especially our Safe & Forbidden Lists, but as doctors get younger and younger this is probably not happening as much as before.

      Thanks Scott I will definitely check my vitamins and minerals to see what I am missing so then I can supplement. I was very concern about my Meniers syntoms and i tryed to find some alive. Now im just realizing that my celiac is provably the root cause of my Meniers none of the 12 doctors I saw told me anything about this.  This web site is so helpful, thanks to people like you we can get answers.

      Vitamin D deficiency can contribute to rib pain. Chest pain stemming from the ribs ccould be costochondritis, which involves inflammation of the cartilage connecting the ribs to the breastbone. This pain can range from mild to severe, potentially mimicking heart attack symptoms, and is often worsened by breathing or movement. Other potential causes include muscle strain, rib fractures, or even referred pain from other conditions.  It will also help to chose vegetables low in omega 6.
