A couple of the Kraft South Beach Diet frozen dinners are also gluten free.

I had written to Stouffers and got such a vague answer as to whether they had anything that was gluten-free or if it was made in a place that does the meals with gluten in it.

What I got out of their email was some do not have wheat or gluten in them but they cannot guarantee them gluten-free. As they are all made in the same facility as the ones with wheat or gluten. It was very badly worded and written.

I just contacted Stouffers about their products. Here's the letter I recieved in response. The date is correct.

March 30, 2006

Dear Ms. Guhl,

Thank you for taking the time to contact us about STOUFFER'S®. We welcome questions and comments from loyal consumers such as yourself and appreciate this opportunity to assist you.

We have read your e-mail, and for several years now we have been following a strict labeling policy with regard to any of the "Big Eight" allergens in our foods and incoming ingredients. We have insisted that our suppliers notify us if gluten is used in any of their ingredients and yet is not declared on their labeling. Thus, we believe we have uncovered any potential uses of gluten-containing ingredients.

Therefore, any Nestlé products will be fully labeled for any presence of gluten or gluten-containing ingredients. We find that this message is much easier than our trying to maintain a positive list of products free of gluten-containing ingredients.

We have begun adding an allergen statement to the ingredients panel to make it easier for those who suffer from food allergies to identify when those ingredients are present in our recipes. We will also report to our marketing department that you would like to see a product list available in the future.

At Nestlé, we are dedicated to you and your family throughout every phase of your lives. Your feedback is valuable to us, as it helps us to improve our products and services.

We appreciate your interest in our products and hope you will visit our website often for the latest information on our products and promotions.

Sincerely,

Christina Miller

That is a much much better letter than what I got from them and it was written by someone else. So, maybe they canned the other one. I can now go back to eating my lean Cuisines that don't have wheat...yay. I do miss their pizza's but as long as I can have some of the others it will be great. I can suffer without the pizzas

Thanks bunches.

Rusla, any suggestions on Leavn Cuisines to try??? I'm ready for some mainstream junk!!!

Still be careful Rusla. Perhaps there is a difference between the American and Canadian companies (like McDonalds......)

Hi @RMJ,   Thank you for you input. I really appreciate all view points on this, more than you know.  Maybe I’ve done too much research. One thing I read would point to yes and then along comes all these variables that convinces me that my levels were high because of having a virus.  I don’t like bread or pasta that much but seriously love baked goods.  I’m scared to give those up “for no reason”  I’m also scared to be doing damage to my body.    I’m stuck in a situation where I’m scared and confused either way.    It’s hard for people with silent celiac because you don’t “feel” like you are doing the right thing.    I did see some advertisements on here about Giliad X? Is that a supplement for...

Thank you @trents!    I have been going back and forth on some gluten free some days and some days not trying to see if there is any reaction to how I feel.    As much as I don’t want to I think given the blood test not being 100%. It’s fair to say an EGD is necessary.  I do think before I go through with that I would run another TTG IGA if my doctor would approve that. If levels are the same, I have no choice. 😔    In the mean time I’m going to enjoy gluten. The biggest problem I have is the thought of eating 4-6 slices of bread per day. That’s crazy! There has to be something comparable. Possibly an “average” of about that per day? Is there any lists of foods out there that are trade offs? (4...

Damage with silent celiac exists. I am a silent celiac.  I was tested because I have the gene predisposing to celiac disease and migraines.  All of my antibodies were high (TTG IgA, TTG IgG, DGP IgA, DGP IGG, EMA). I had a biopsy which showed damage. After going gluten free I felt better overall and have more energy. Unfortunately it didn’t help the migraines. Sorry to be blunt and write this, but it sounds like you’re really in denial about the possibility of having celiac disease. Understandable, and not uncommon on this forum.

Welcome to the forum, @terrymouse! Your GI doc is correct. Going gluten free now will allow healing to occur in the villous lining of the small bowel such that the endoscopy/biopsy may not show the damage to the villous architecture that is characteristic of celiac disease. Since your celiac blood antibody tests results are on the low side and don't "scream" of celiac disease I think it is important to go forward with the endoscopy/biopsy while still consuming gluten to ensure it will not be a wasted effort. The last thing you want is to have two different test modalities that unnecessarily contradict one another. So, unless the continued consumption of gluten poses an immediate and...

I had an endoscopy where there was no visible damage but biopsies showed damage. I even asked beforehand if the endoscope had good enough magnification to see the villi!  I hope you get a clear answer from the biopsies.
