Is it normal to be só hungry 2 hours after a meal? I eat balanced, plant-based healthy meals, with enough proteïn. Because I cannot get gluten-free bread or ingredients (also no oven to bake), could my fibre be too little?

I am forced to take a protein smoothie before bed,  or I cannot sleep due to hunger. It is not good for the gut nót to rest during the night. 

Any advice, please?

Make sure you're getting sufficient Omega Three fats which will help with satiety.  Omega Threes vegetarian sources are Chia seeds, flaxseed, and walnuts.

Hi Edene - I usually feel hungry after eating a healthy meal. I also eat some food that has protein and fats or oils assnacks and I don't gain weight by eating extra food. If you are worried that you are not eating enough protein you could take a good look at your fingernails. Malnutrition often causes fingernails to break, crack or be too flexible. They may have prominent ridges either side to side or up and down. This was how my fingernails were when I was malnourished.

What keeps me from going to sleep easily is usually some intestinal disturbance that I have not noticed. Sometimes it is because I need to drink more water so I drink water until I get. Sleepy. Sometimes I have very faint intestinal spasms. For this I gently but firmly press down on my abdomen and see if I feel any mild cramps pr spasms. If I do feel something with my fingers or a place that is sore I gently massage that area until the cramp relaxes and allows the intestinal contents to flow on. I learned this from 2 nurses years ago and it has been very useful. I don't have the references but I have seen several articles about this online.  

You might want to look up the ileo-cecal valve which can get stuck open or closed. This valve controls the passage of the intestinal contents to be released from the small intestine into the large intestine. Shortly after we eat a meal this valve normally opens to allow the new food we just ate to replace the food we ate in the previous meal to pass on into the large intestine.

      After waisted time of new care team, yet again EXHAUSTED saw new gi today in Modesto, though all my ailments im not getting any kind of concern of me being celiac and sentive to just about everything since menopause. Dr daid why don't I go see you guys because my blood shows zero for celiac. I told him im glutenfree since 1994 by colonoscopy with biopsy positive celiac sprue by GI.Its RIDICULOUS when im bringing in material from this site of knowledge as well as the autoimmune institute,and  there's zero interest on their part.Medical IS causing me depression.Im view as a disability chaser, IM STILL RECOVERING from being a bus driver that im still healing and having more issues, now I may have multiple sclerosis or meningioma. Ive reached out, wrote letters, NOT feeling well. This is inhumane.

      I was taking medicine for sibo but it was not agreeing with my stomach at all.Was on gabapentin but it amps me up.I was taking in morning because it wasn't allowing me to sleep.This has always been an issue with medicine and me.Even going to dentist, the good shot that numbs you once, I can't take because it makes my heart beat fast and I  get the shakes.I have to take the crappy stuff and get injected always more than 4 times always.Its infuriating

      I showed one doctor I went to once because completely clueless of celiac disease and yes that one was connected to a well known hospital and she said oh thats just a bunch of people that think they are celiac coming together. I said um no they have doctors and knowledge behind what is being written. So bay area is Downplaying this site! SADLY

      If you successfully digest gluten with enzyme supplements so it won’t give you side effects, your challenge won’t be worthwhile because the digested fragments of gluten also won’t stimulate antibody production or cause intestinal damage.
