Just Don't Feel Good

Since yesterday I just do not feel well. I really don't think I've been glutened because I've fixed my own meals. I ache everywhere, am very fatigued, and have a low temp. I can't pinpoint what is wrong. I feel dumb for not being able to say what is wrong. Anyone else ever just not feel well.

That sounds sooo familiar. My husband sometimes just doesn't feel right. No specific cause. It wasn't because of gluten. He just feels achy & kind of run down. I think it just goes with the territory unfortunately. He has been checked from head to toe & can't find anything wrong at all.

perhaps you're just coming down with something. there's a bug that's been going around here that's left people under the weather for the better part of a week.

I was thinking some sort of bug/virus also. Last week, I was feeling the same way and was also nauseous. It didn't feel like my usual gluten/food reaction, but I chalked it up to that anyway. A few days later, my son came down with a stomach bug--that's obviously what I had! Anyway, I hope you feel better soon! :)

Thanks for the thoughts and ideas

How are you feeling Jenny? It almost sounds like the flu. Give it a couple of days and if you don't feel better go see the doctor. It could be the flu. Any other symptoms?

jennyj Collaborator

Not really any other symptoms. I am not very hungry and kinda mopey but nothing else.

Jenny:

Are you sure it's not something you ate? :( I just realized today I had eaten a UNO candy bar and it has wheat flour in it. So that's why I am sick today.

This happens to me at least once a week. It sucks. I don't know why and its not gluten.

Thanks Scott. They are gluten-free but cross contaminated.

Hi there @MCAyr I have a small umbilical hernia which came about during my second pregnancy.   I can just about see it, and feel it, when I stand or sit, but it is far less noticeable when I lie down.  I always know when I am putting on weight because I can get pain and burning near the site, funnily enough not on the hernia itself but either side!  I would imagine bloating could cause the same effect as weight gain. In my case I don't think it is my bowel protruding but a bit of fat  - sorry,  I realise this isn't painting a very pretty picture.  But in truth it is scarcely noticeable.  It has never really got bigger in size. I was rather hoping that it could be operated on but here in the UK they don't seem to operate on every hernia anymore.  My GP isn't remotely worried about it. In a way, I should be thankful - it is like an early warning system that I need to go on a diet! Cristiana

The hernia description would likely be unrelated to celiac disease, but you'd need to get it checked out by your doctor to be sure it's a hernia.
