Hi lister

see you live in Oregon..I have found 'IF THE MANAGER IS GOOD' RED ROBBIN IS THE BEST FOR US!!!

IF YOU GET A BAD MANAGER...YOUR AT THEIR MERCY...I'M GOING TO FORWARD THIS EMAIL TO MY FAVORITE MANAGER, DAVE HOWK AT THE EXTON PA RED ROBBIN. HE HAS BEEN SO INCREDIABLE TO MY HUSBAND AND I.

THERE ARE ALOT OF THREADS ON HERE FOR THAT RESTURANT. IT SEEMS THERE IS A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A FRANCHINSE AND CORP OWNED ESTABLISMENTS.

GLAD YOU HAD A GOOD EXPERIENCE. I LOVE THIS PLACE..AND THE FOOD IS TERRIFIC.

I have to learn to speak up. When we went to Red Robin, about a week ago, I asked for a Gluten Free menu. (I'd been told they were available) And, the server looked at me as if I were speaking a totally different language than she was.

We ended up getting our daughter fries, and lemonaid. I was too afraid to let her try anything else.

Well, Lister, earlier you were wondering where you'd get food for the week ... now you know! :D

yeah but i think maybe potatoes make me sick, since eating there I have been really really exosted and light headed(brain fogish) but no gastrointestinal problems so maybe its something else

I just realized that I could actually eat a decent meal at Red Robin. My dad came in to visit me the yesterday and I took him to Red Robin b/c he'd never been. I didn't know if I would find anything gluten-free there or not b/c I didn't have time to check before we went out. I just asked the server a few questions (like do you fry anything else in the fryer besides the french fries?) He was really nice and admitted that they did not have a dedicated fryer (the way he said it made it seem like they were supposed to). So, I got a lettuce burger and a salad. It was a really good meal and I'll definetly go back!

Mandy and Lister--if you read the last Red Robbin thread that was up a few days ago...I said that my manager in Exton read me the oil ingred "over the phone" the next day when he called to see how i was...

the oil they have on hand has soy in it. i can't have soy so he buys another kind of oil and keeps for me and others who can't have soy...and they do not have a dedicated fryer...he just uses a clean pan and fries my ff in that one pan...

ok this may not be a answer for all travelers...remember i posted of my Easter experience where one R Robbin refused to feed me and asked me to leave..it happened to another poster on here too...so

guess you just have to call. that's the best advice i can give you

lister I didn't know i had a problem with soy until about 6 months into being gluten-free.so some tips for you and Mandy

Last time I went to RR, the manager and chef came out to talk with me. They steered me towards one of the burgers with bbq sauce (no bun). And steamed veggies. As much as I thought I'd miss the fries, I ate every morsel of food and it was wonderful. They told me that they do have a dedicated fryer, but they fry fish and onion rings in the next fryer, so there's always the chance for a small amount of cc. They were fantastic.

judy in philly -- Thanks for the advice. I really need to start planning/calling ahead so that I can feel safer about eating more than just bunny food :D

This treatment looks promising. Its aim is to provoke immune tolerance of gluten, possibly curing the disease. It passed the phase 2 trial with flying colours, and I came across a post on Reddit by one of the study volunteers. Apparently, the results were good enough that the company is applying for fast track approval.  Anokion Announces Positive Symptom Data from its Phase 2 Trial Evaluating KAN-101 for the Treatment of Celiac Disease https://www.reddit.com/r/Celiac/comments/1krx2wh/kan_101_trial_put_on_hold/

BTW, we've done other articles on this topic that I wanted to share here (not to condone smoking!):

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.
