What kind of dysbiosis (gut bacterial imbalance) do you have? Did you suspect from your symptoms that you had imbalance? Or did you take antibiotics which you suspect killed off 'good guy' bacteria? Did you get tested for bacteria, yeast and/or parasites to determine exactly what you have?

My naturopathic doc (who founded the IBS Treatment Center in Seattle) gave me a comprehensive stool bacteria, yeast and parasite test after I had been gluten/dairy/soy free for over 2 years and still had ongoing symptoms. That test told him I had a LOT of Klebsiella (a BAD bacteria) and no Bifidobacteria (one of the good guys). The lab test results also recommended which meds and/or herbal supplements my particular strain of Klebsiella is sensitive to (which would kill it off). I chose Caprylic Acid (herbal treatment) because I usually get bad reactions to drugs. I took 2 CA tablets 3X daily for 2 weeks (sorry I don't have the dosage because I threw away the bottle). Now I'm taking heavy duty probiotics (12 billion good bacteria per capsule) twice daily to restore the good guy bacteria balance. I'm still getting a little gas and bloating from probiotic treatment, but my pain and irregularity disappeared.

If you don't know exactly what kind of bacteria, yeast or parasiteyou have, you may take the wrong drug or herbal supplement to kill those, before you take probiotics to reverse dysbiosis. Obviously I don't know your history or what you did to determine what you have and what to take. I hope I didn't miss your previous post somewhere where you revealed all that history.

I read that some need to take up to 4-5 a day if candida is bad. Move up to three and see how you do. If you start feeling a lot of die off you can always reduce. They talk a lot about this on Candida Support.com (I think that is the name).

How do you KNOW whether you have Candida? When I first saw my doc and told him my symptoms, he thought I might have Candida because of the way I reacted to sugar. So I did that very restrictive antiCandida diet and drank Pau D'Arco tea for 3 weeks while awaiting my stool bacteria, yeast and parasite test results. That test revealed my Candida is in the normal range, I had NO bifido bacteria (good guy bacteria), but I had a lot of Klebsiella (BAD) bacteria. My ELISA test results showed that I have a (IgG antibody) allergy to Cane sugar which also influenced my symptoms.

While I was doing that restrictive Candida diet, I read lots of Candida website posts from people guessing they had Candida, but they never strictly adhered to the Candida diet or took the herbal supplements long enough or in high enough doses to see much improvement. I suspect 'not knowing' for certain whether they had Candida influenced their ambivalence about the diet and treatment. That's a pretty restrictive diet, but I felt lots better because I cut out sugar entirely. I consider the Candida diet much more restrictive than abstaining from gluten, dairy, soy, eggs and cane sugar (which I now do).

I suggest that anyone who suspects Candida get a stool test for yeast, bacteria and parasites to confirm Candida which will encourage them to stick to the diet and treatment. Most drug AND herbal treatments have unpleasant side effects. I'm still suffering gas and bloating while taking Caprylic acid for Klebsiella, which is also recommended for Candida treatment, but my other symptoms have decreased dramatically. However I still need to take CA for more than 2 weeks.

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.

Exactly which blood tests were done? There are a few different ones and some docs don't do them all. Also, your results and reference ranges for each?
