Cocoa Puffs

Hi, just thought I would send out the warning. I realized this summer that Cocoa Puffs did not contain wheat so I was allowing my son to eat them as a treat. He was very excited to be able to eat what his cousins could eat. My husband picked up a box this weekend and I was just looking at them (apparently he didn't  ). It says contains wheat at the bottom of the ingredients and then under that in blue there is a warning to food allergic people that it "now contain wheat". I know cocoa puffs is not necessary in their diet but I just feel bad that there goes another food he was able to eat. I feel like complaining but what good would that do?

Nicole

You can complain, others have already, but it won't do any good. They already took into consideration the fact that they would be throwing away your patronage when they made the decision to try to scam more non-celiacs into thinking that they have made Cocoa Puffs a "multi-grain" cereal (according to some bizarre new government definition).

Hey Nicole!

Here's the link (I hope it works) to the other thread where we've been sharing thoughts about Cocoa Puffs.

Yes DO complain. It DOES make a difference. If enough ppl complain, and they think thier sales will be impacted, they will change.

I agree, and let your local group know so they can complain, too. We're a big group, we should be able to make a difference!!

Thank you. I must have misinterpreted a study or something. Thank you for the clarification. Much appreciated. Almost three years into my celiac diagnosis and I'm still learning new things.

I wasn’t clear, glucagon and gadolinium were intravenous. I drank about 5 cups of the prep during 45 minutes. I feel very tired now, probably partly because I was nervous, and partly because I had to fast for 6 hours beforehand and wasn’t very hungry when I got home.

That seems at lot of solution to have put threw you when you already have bowel issues , I will phone them tomorrow because it's sorbitol I have reactions too, thankyou for the input how do you feel now ? I'm not sure I can keep still for that long with my back issues either unfortunately I didn't know it could take that long 😕

The solution I had to drink contained sorbitol and mannitol. I was in the MRI, lying on my back, for about 40 minutes. I was given glucagon partway through, and a gadolinium contrast agent. After I got home there was some diarrhea from the prep solution.
