Butterscotch Morsels

I have checked most reg. brands and they all list malt (most say barley malt) so is there such a thing as gluten-free butterscotch morsels? Help! I need them for a fudge I'm making Friday. Thanks if anyone knows about this. I did a search and nothing came up.........

This is strange that you posted this today. Last night, I ate half of a chocolate covered peanut thingy that my wife made. I said, 'Are you sure these are okay?' She then remembered that she used butterscotch morsels, as well as chocolate. I couldn't find the package so I called NESTLE. Well, I was on hold forever and my wife finally found the package. I saw the barley malt on it and realized that it was not gluten free. At that point, someone finally picked up the call, so I asked them if it was gluten free. He put me on hold and then came back and said it was gluten free. I then said what about the barley malt? He said, 'you're right, it does have barley malt, so it's not gluten free.' This was kind of troubling. Are companies relying on their customer service reps to determine whether or not something is gluten free? Shouldn't these reps already have a list of what is and what isn't? Who can we trust?!

Boo on them! I'm so bummed that the Nestle's butterscotch has barley malt in it. If anyone has an answer it would be great! I'll see what I can find out! I did a search (Google) but haven't come up with anything yet.

I use Hershey's Butterscotch morsels, and they were gluten free the last time I bought them (about 1 week ago).

If you have hemorrhoids 1x weekly I don't see how you have time to heal from one episode before you experience another one, unless each one is a very minor event. Have you consulted a physician about your hemorrhoid issue? It's not normal to be having an episode every week unless it is really one episode that is not completely healing between weekly flareups.

No I haven't had one since 2021. I rarely have more than 1 per week.

Sorry, I see that now as I reread your original post. You say you have hemorrhoids "only once a week" now. When I develop hemorrhoids, which is once every few years now, it generally takes 3-4 days for healing to take place. So, it doesn't seem like you could have much relief time between episodes if you have them weekly. Have you had a lower GI scoping done recently?

Everyday I eat a medium to large apple in the morning and a large banana at night. I eat a cup of oatmeal in the evening. The ezekiel wheat bread I eat has a good amount of fiber. I haven't dealt with constipation for at least a year. Most of the time my feces are soft.
