Firecracker Toting Kindergartner

So today at school one of my Kindergarten boys decides to bring a firecracker to school!!!! We were packing bags to go home and he starts showing his firecracker to his friends. I immediately grabed up the "firecracker" and said that I would be keeping it and we don't allow "firecrackers" in kindergarten.

I know by now all of you are wondering why this story is funny.........................

well to a 5 year old a tampon sure looks a whole lot like a firecracker!! Yes, that's right folks. One of my boys had brought a tampon to school, complete with applicator. I suppose the string does look a bit like a "fuse" haha

I sent it home in an envelope with a note for mom to promise to tell him the story of "the time he was in kindergarten and took the tampon to school" when he's about 20 years old :)

Hope you got a good laugh. It sure made my day today!!

-Jessica

Now THAT is hilarious! Oops!

That's about as bad as what my sister did once, when she was about 10 or so. She wanted to buy film for our (the kid's) camera. She saw a dispensing machine outside the pharmacy, which said something about 'thin film', and thought it was film for a camera. When she got home and opened the package, she found long, skinny 'balloons' instead of the film she had expected.

She blew one up, and played outside with it with my little brother, in full view of all the neighbours. They were having a grand time, until my mom looked outside to check on them, and saw that they were happily playing with a blown up CONDOM!

Jessica,

That is TOOOOOOO funny! Thanks for sharing!!! That definitely made my day, and I will be passing on that story to my husband, who will get a kick out of it. File that one under, "Kids do the darndest things!"

Glad you all got a kick out of it. I think that the best part is that he got it from another little boy. I'm sure this other little boy was like "oh go ahead and take it, we have tons more firecrackers in the bathroom" ! ha Kids are funny! I LOVE them lol

BOTH of those stories had me cracking up!!! Thanks for the laugh this morning, I will make sure to share the stories with my husband and kids, they will get a kick out of it too. Especially my middle child. He used to think it was funny to pop those "things" he found in the bathroom out of the applicator (like a rocket of course) into a sink full of water and watch them swell up. He thought they were like those little sponge animals that they sell in capsules and could never figure out why they didn't make anything. I finally had to take them out of the bathroom, no matter how many times I explained that they were "mommy things" he just didn't understand and they are way too expensive to pop into a sink, lol!

This treatment looks promising. Its aim is to provoke immune tolerance of gluten, possibly curing the disease. It passed the phase 2 trial with flying colours, and I came across a post on Reddit by one of the study volunteers. Apparently, the results were good enough that the company is applying for fast track approval.  Anokion Announces Positive Symptom Data from its Phase 2 Trial Evaluating KAN-101 for the Treatment of Celiac Disease https://www.reddit.com/r/Celiac/comments/1krx2wh/kan_101_trial_put_on_hold/

BTW, we've done other articles on this topic that I wanted to share here (not to condone smoking!):

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.
