I was wondering if anyone takes chlorella or knows if it is safe for us.I think it is but I'm not positive. I read where Dr.Mercola says it can help rid the body of mercury & helps with conspitation.....

Any thoughts?

It's just algae, so it should be fine, but I'd be careful with Mercola - sometimes he's a bit of a quack.

From what I've been hearing Chlorella mobilizes the mercury, but that it doesn't actually get rid of it...the mercury once mobilized can redistribute itself into other tissues/organs if something isn't taken along with it to "bind" with it so it will be excreted out. My doctor has me taking modified citrus pectin (it's a type of fiber) to "bind" with the mercury.

I use Mercola's chlorella, it doesn't contain any gluten. It is full of minerals and has some vitamins. I am also a member of mercola.com. Most of his products are gluten free! Not all brands of chlorella are safe due to manufacturing practices.

This thread is almost a year old, but when I ran across it, wanted to give an update. I checked with Mercola about 3 months ago to see if his chlorella was gluten free, and was advised NOT to take it (or his probiotic) due to gluten or cross contamination. I was a bit bummed because I really liked it, but haven't taken it since. I still take his Krill Oil tabs though, they said they're gluten free.

Some celiacs seem to do fine with chlorella, but it is an immune enhancer. Because celiac disease is an autoimmune disease, people who have it have immune systems that are basically on overdrive. Boosting your immune system isn't necessarily a good idea. Just some info I picked up during my research on the stuff.

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.

Exactly which blood tests were done? There are a few different ones and some docs don't do them all. Also, your results and reference ranges for each?
