gluten-free Cake That You Can Buy & Have Shipped

I'm having a baby shower next month and the hosts are looking to buy me a gluten-free cake. I was so happy with this because I was going to make my own cake and bring it to have while everyone else had gluten filled cake. They are looking for a bakery that can make the cake. They said they would let me check everything out before they ordered it so I would feel comfortable. This is so nice of them, I don't care if I get any presents.

So, has anyone ordered a cake? I am very sensitive and don't usually eat things that are produced on the same lines as gluten, so I would really prefer a totally gluten-free bakery?

If we can't find something affordable, are there any good box cake mixes? I haven't baked at all because I'm afraid that my baking pans and things have gluten left in the crevices and I don't want to go out and buy new stuff. Can you line pans with wax paper when you are baking?

Wildwood Cafe in Austin is a gluten free bakery that looks like it will ship cakes. Their carrot cake is delicious. I think even people who eat gluten will like it. I'm not sure about the other ones but everything I've had there has been good.

And for your question about baking with waxed paper, yes it can be done.

I believe Grainless Baker can be shipped too.

Terra Cotta has the most awesome carrot cake, but I think you can only order it in Canada. They are based in Alberta.

Hello, I was very stick,  with flu like symptoms, but my virus panel came back negative and we couldn’t figure out what’s going on. The doctor then added a celiac panel.  Has anyone ever had such a dramatic change?  What are the odds this is true celiac I am going to have an endoscopy, but it’s expensive and I just feel like why can’t the labs be enough?

Eating out in general is full of risks, but this article may help:

This kind of question is always difficult to give a definitive answer to because of so many variables. One such variable is the sensitivity of the individual celiac to small amounts of gluten cross contamination. An amount that causes a reaction in one celiac many not in another, or at least not be discernable which, of course, does not exactly equate to being "safe".

I don't live in the US, but based on this thread, I wouldn't risk it:   https://www.reddit.com/r/glutenfree/comments/1n2ehw8/cracker_barrel/   This app is helpful: https://www.findmeglutenfree.com/

I see that Cracker Barrel restaurants have a gluten free menu (not all locations, but one confirmed that they do). I was wondering if it is safe for my 5 year old son with celiac disease?
