Patients with celiac disease are at increased risk of developing cancer if they are diagnosed with the condition later in life, Italian researchers say.

Wow.. Good article. My dad died of stomach cancer in Dec 2004. Even though I never saw anything mentioning a connection if you had undiagnosed celiac, it made sense to me that that may have played a role. So I figured that I at least had less of a risk for that.

But I never heard anything about the chance of breast cancer being increased. Since my mom died of breast cancer in 1993, it's nice to know that I may have improved my chances there as well.

Wow I new there was in increased risk, but I never knew just what. That might explain things in my family (as cancer is the main killer, and nobody has Celiac). Kinda creepy at the same time, tho....

wow- I was dx as Celiac at 47 ..... I guess some testing is in order but will my Dr believe me ?

You might want to print out the medical article and show it to your physician. It is from a reliable peer reviewed medical journal. They usually believe their own peers, rather than "us".

      Shingles is dormant and related to chicken pox when one has had in the past.Shingles comes out when stress is heightened.I had my 3rd Shingles in 2023.
