Seaworld In San Deigo?

I e-mailed them and they gave me all the gluten free possibilities in their park, but can anyone tell me how good a job they do at making sure it's gluten free and is one place better than another? We will be traveling to CA with our three kids for spring break and with three of us (me plus two of the kids) on a gluten free diet I would hate to have a bad experience. It certainly would make it easier to buy food there rather than packing for 3 people for the entire day!

Hi! Luckily, Seaworld lets you bring your own food into the park and has lockers that you can rent for storage. I say "luckily" because I don't trust their "gluten-free" standards. Got "glutened" there last summer, wrote them an email about their cross-contamination issues, and never received a response. For instance, the corn that they claim is gluten-free is floating in a vat of hot water that has bits of french fries and fried chicken breading floating around in it. None of the kitchen staff I talked to were aware of the park's gluten-free standards. I'm guessing that the managers think as long as the food they are serving isn't a breadstick or a cracker, it must be safe. It's very old thinking compared to many of the other parks my friends and I have been to.

By the way, baked potatoes at the SD Zoo are delicious and safe!

I was there when Elsbels got glutened. It was awful! My dd (a gluten-free veteran) took one look at the food line and refused to put anything but their soda in her mouth. She ate quite well from her cooler--better than the rest of us, truth be told. The food at Sea World is pretty gross.

Note to any gluten eaters: they have "rice krispy" treats dipped in chocolate. It's mint chocolate, and just plain tastes wrong with the rice krispy thing. But at least it's shaped like Shamu :)

Thank you ,it’s been a long road for me for having both now ,what upsets the most is that if they discovered that I also have cealiac earlier I would not have injested gluten if I was aware. Double whammy.

Some interesting articles regarding the use of Zinc Carnosine to help heal gastric ulcers, gastritis and intestinal permeability. I would consult a medical professional about it's use. https://www.nature.com/articles/ncpgasthep0778 https://www.rupahealth.com/post/clinical-applications-of-zinc-carnosine---evidence-review https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC7146259/ https://www.fallbrookmedicalcenter.com/zinc-l-carnosine-benefits-dosage-and-safety/

He is. Which makes everything even more difficult. I’m not a believer in “staying for the kids” but I have nowhere to go and it’s not just me, it’s me plus my babies. We live in a beautiful place, lots of land in the country and me and the kids love the place we’ve called home for their entire lives. But Im seeing that he’ll never change, that my kids deserve a happy healthy Momma, and that staying in this as is will be the early death of me. Then I look at the scars covering my entire body…this disease and the chronic stress I’ve been enduring for years that tell me I’m no longer beautiful and no one will ever look at me with interest again. I try self care, try to give myself grace so I can just start loving myself enough to gain strength but the slightest sparkle in my eye and skip in my step attracts his wrath and it all comes crashing ten fold. Life is just absolutely railing me from every single direction leaving me wanting to wave that white flag bc I don’t feel like there’s much hope no matter what happens.
