I was looking at the Luna Bars, specifically the Nutz over chocolate, Looks OK to me. It says on the package "we source ingrediants which do not contain wheat, dairy and are not genetically engineered." But are they gluten free?

wheat free does not equal gluten free. many flavors of luna bars have malt, and all have oats.

No, they have oats and malt.

You can have Clif Nectar Bars and Bumblebars. Bumblebars chocolate is VERY good.

I checked the bumblebars out, and im a little weary of buying a whole case of something i have never had.. Do any of you buy them some place else, so i dont have to buy so many. I have not seen them localy.

I buy mine individually at Whole Foods Market. I've seen them in other health food stores two and somewhere else recently that surprised me. I don't blame you for not wanting to buy a whole case...not everyone likes the same things.

I like the clif nectar bars too, not as much as bumble bars, but I like them. They're a different texture from the luna bars I remember (course, it's been years since I've had a luna bar too)...more chewy and moister...they don't have all the oats to stiffen them up, lol. Of course I like the chocolate the best. :P

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I looked at a package of ZonePerfect bars, and I swear I couldn't find any gluten in them, no malt, no oats, no wheat starch...could it be true?

Hum, I'll have to look at those. I also like a bar I get from my doctor's office...it's especially designed to not raise blood sugars and stuff...can't ever remember the name though. :(

I recently called Zone, and they do say that a number of their bars do not contain ingredients containing gluten, including the new forumalation of the caramel crunch and the fudge graham. You can call them for a list. They also said that they did not hide gluten in ingredients such as "natural flavors." They are made in a facility which also processes bars with gluten.

I love chocolate Bumble bars, but they aren't usually found in regular stores. I order them by the case, or get them in the health food store.

Hello, I was very stick,  with flu like symptoms, but my virus panel came back negative and we couldn’t figure out what’s going on. The doctor then added a celiac panel.  Has anyone ever had such a dramatic change?  What are the odds this is true celiac I am going to have an endoscopy, but it’s expensive and I just feel like why can’t the labs be enough?

Eating out in general is full of risks, but this article may help:

This kind of question is always difficult to give a definitive answer to because of so many variables. One such variable is the sensitivity of the individual celiac to small amounts of gluten cross contamination. An amount that causes a reaction in one celiac many not in another, or at least not be discernable which, of course, does not exactly equate to being "safe".

I don't live in the US, but based on this thread, I wouldn't risk it:   https://www.reddit.com/r/glutenfree/comments/1n2ehw8/cracker_barrel/   This app is helpful: https://www.findmeglutenfree.com/

I see that Cracker Barrel restaurants have a gluten free menu (not all locations, but one confirmed that they do). I was wondering if it is safe for my 5 year old son with celiac disease?
